So.... anyone have any ideas what this picture is of???

Tom

WernerNYK 09-02-2003 23:26

I dunno... looks like some sort of thinga-majig though :D

Aaron Lussier 09-02-2003 23:26

I see a drill motor, I see lexan over the drill which leads me to belive that it shifts, in the right corner I see what appears to be a Van Door Motor connected to a shaft which looks like its welded to sometype of long arm that extends over the drill, I see a lexan mount for what looks like a piviot for the first section of the arm, I see red Sprockets, with chain going out of the back of the picture, possibly to help with lifting of boxes. I also see a FIRST provided gear box that seems to have the drill motor coming out of the wrong side and, not being connected to anything else becides the Extruded aluminium below it. Near as I can figure WPI will be able to stack boxes and move really quick with some as of yet unseen drive train. I wonder if I'm right. How did I do Tom?

WernerNYK 09-02-2003 23:31

Hmmm.... well other than answering the obvious questions... I have no comment on the rest :yikes:

ColleenShaver 09-02-2003 23:34

I dunno.. It does look WPI-ish with all those wholes in it. Hmm.. doesn't look like that 'chassis-in-an-hour' went together quite right..

.. or in an hour for that matter.. hm:cool:

Tom Schindler 09-02-2003 23:36

Hmm.. i wonder what that 80-20 on the bottom is for..... interesting :)

WernerNYK 09-02-2003 23:38

WPI uses 80-20?! Never!!!!!!! :p

dk5sm5luigi 09-02-2003 23:47

Wait a second isn't that 2x4 being used for the wrong thing? I don't know but it seems this team really messed up in trying to put their 1 hour assembly together. Someone email them the directions!!!!!

Aaron Lussier 09-02-2003 23:55

You guys are funny, I'm the only non 190 who replied so far... hehe you guys really are funny :]

ColleenShaver 10-02-2003 00:52

190? We're not on 190... we're on 190...B. Yeah, 190B that's it.

What are all those big shafts running through the robot? Those look a little clunky to me. I wonder what kind of 'goat' 190 is this year... Spidergoat.. Batgoat.... Monkeygoat?? Something seems fishy to me. Maybe that's it! Fishgoat!

;) :ahh:

Tom Schindler 10-02-2003 00:55

i thought those round things were just for support???? wierd..... but a fishgoat sounds about right.. i mean how else would we deal with the pool of water at the top of the ramp?

WernerNYK 10-02-2003 01:15

Wait, wait.... I dont understand.... are you talking about that big red blob in the middle of the picture?

You got it. It is a fishgoat

nickma 10-02-2003 20:55

hmmmmmm

ahecht 10-02-2003 22:12

Wow! Look at the nice particle board they used for the bottom there. So innovative.

dk5sm5luigi 10-02-2003 22:44

It also appears that there are no wheels. Oh well who needs wheels. Wall Genie is going to Houston!!!!!

Clanat 20-02-2003 17:37

See you at seattle. It will be interesting to see what your robot actually is. Don't expect many pushovers though, even with all the rookie and second year teams.

See you there.
