direct Drill motor drive wrong or right
On our robot we have the robot wheels and shaft connected directly to the drill motors is that wrong. we have no gears just a direct connection. is that good

as long as your wheels are small enough (6 inches or less) you should be fine.

Lots of teams direct drive. It's not a question of being "good" or "bad". If it works for your your team, then it's good. That's all there is to it. Disregard other posts which claim otherwise as they have no knowledge of your team or robot.

Maybe you could provide a little more info.
As long as the wheels are small and you aren't side loading the transmission too much (Wheel not supported on both sides) Hey, if the ratio works and it doesn't stall out have fun is what I say. |
Without at least a 3:1 ratio (or is it 1:3? anyway, whatever gears it down) you prolly won't make it over the ramp easily. We have the basic mounts and tranny with the big wheels that came in the kit, and we struggle to get over the hill, even in low. This is not a good sign. :(
