All right, I admit it.

I haven't been to very many theme parks, and I didn't know what to compare indiana beach with OF COURSE it is MUCH WORSE than six flags, and overall, I guess your right,

Indiana Beach Sucks.

But the rap tournament idea is still cool. It is modern, and popular.

I dunno.

whatever it is, it has to be fun and cool.

I used to have this bumper sticker that said "Purdue is the Indiana University"

I also had one that said " Hoosier by birth, Boilermaker by grace of God"

If you were my daughter and I read your post I would be so proud. Heck if I had a son your age I'd introduce the two of you. Mine is six so I think that would be a little bit of an age thing but hey give him a year and he will at least have his front teeth back.Female Boiler fans are in short supply.

Go Boilers

I don't know if 343 and 25 are planning to attend but I'll bet we could talk them into it.
Consider us talked into it! Thanks to this post and it's responses 343 is going to make every effort to be there! We would love a rematch!

ps... also, by the way... we are realizing that many more than 40 teams are wanting to play... we are working on that issue (no promises, though)

Wow... Sounds like it's going to be the biggest robotics party of the year... No true FIRST-a-holic can pass on that! At least not a west coast FIRST-a-holic! It will be my revenge for the 5 weeks I was on the road for without any fun! :P

Save me a share of the volunteer food! (oh wait I must've confused this with a regional... :D )

I have a feeling I wouldn't want to run the competition this size, although I am quite interested in seeing if you guys can pull it off.

Libby Ritchie 09-05-2003 14:31

Once we get our teams that will compete at the IRI, I will send out a packet of information that gives ideas/locations on what you can do while visiting the great state of Indiana!

As for Scott...STOP TRYING TO SELL OUR CHILDREN TO PURDUE FANS! And for those of you that can sympathize, I was raised in a devout IU home...then married into a devout PU family. So, I always say, "GO BALL STATE!" :)

Wetzel 09-05-2003 14:40

I guess the IU-PU rivalry is similar to Tech-UVA.

I think that it is time to start looking for roommates...

Ken? Jim? Bill?

What about just showing up with a robot and running it around in a corner somewhere, would that be ok? (And the TKats BETTER do that;))

I forsee havok.

David Kelly 10-05-2003 14:41

since there have been 3 or 4 people asking me what time zone IRI registration opens, it will be 6:00 pm Indiana East. Which translates if you are not a HOOSIER as being Central time this part of the year.

now stop IMing me! hehe, jk ;)

Indiana Beach was my first job ever. I grew up in Monticello and worked there, as did most of my friends. I started as one of those guys who walks around with a broom and "pooper-scooper", cleaning up popcorn, cigarette butts, and much worse stuff (getting paid $2.65 per hour, btw). I ended up working at "the pier" as a lifeguard in the "filtered well water".

Having said all this... I totally agree with Amanda. I would definitely not suggest a meeting there, unless you would want to go and "people watch" for your entertainment.

Although Indiana Beach does indeed prove that there is not only more than corn in Indiana but also talking pelicans, this 'team party' would get very old very quickly. But hey, I can only judge for myself. Maybe some people would find it interesting - has Ken Leung or Brandon Martus ever seen a TRUE mullet?

Andy, having worked there, has probably seen worse than I have. Folks, I can tell you this - I have been a cheerleader for Robinson's Racing Pigs at the Lake County fair... and it still was a better experience than the last time I went to Indiana Beach.

Indeed. Libby gets a big hug in my book. Good old Ball State - the only median of my mother's and father's sides of the family.

David Kelly 11-05-2003 23:43

T - 19 hours 14 minutes till registration opens for IRI :D

I don't think either of you are giving Cornball Express the credit it deserves. :P
