When you have to quit your job, break up with your girlfriend (thank god it was mutal.. (we hadnt seen each other in 2 months due to distance reasons (a 45 min drive) and couldnt talk because she only could from 7-9 when i was w/ the team!) to practice shooting balls!!!! UGH!!! but on the up side i finnally have time to concentrate on school and the team =D

when getting dressed for a wedding, i give a rather logical explantion on fasion (how to wear what we were wearing) as we were getting dressed
and my sister turns to the rest of the family and says "she's an engeneer... she thinks like that a lot..." and all i can do is have a blank expersion saying "but it makes sense... what do u mean... huh?" of course they took my advice :D when you are disapointed at yourself for not giving "Duct tape" as an ans. for something... :o eg my suitemate was getting dressed but the boots were not high enough to fill the slits of the jeans... so i tell her to just staple the slits togather due to the lack of saftypins... she did it and it worked :D |

what? how do i know?well, okay, first my sister joined in, on the team (#47). She told me every thing that they have done. So, just by telling me that, i got so into it. Soon, i got into a after school program called "girls in tech." i didn't relize that it was part of what my sister was into. i went to their OCCRA games. so, i loved it so much and can't wait to go into high school and joined in also. :D hey, you got to love it!! :D

Dr. Bot I think your addicted to FIRST more then I am. lol cool song. ...when you record the time it takes for the robot to start sending recieving messages and compare it to the equipment you use at work - not funny but its something I do when I get bored since the equipmemnts on a LAN type of network. hehe This is for the alumni who are on teams and really don't build the robot anymore! ...When you go to work or school and during the 6 weeks of building your assignments for work or college are the hardest assignments of the year and after the 6 weeks you begin telling your self building a robot is not half as bad as doing all this paper work that gets shredded after a few yrs. :D |

When you've got the second most hours during build season of all the students on the team and it's only your second year on the team the only student ahead of you is the team president who is a senior.
When you say "I'm management" on the second day of build and it not only sticks with you the rest of build but you get a button that say "I'm management" on it. |

(I managed to get a few more people interested in participating in FIRST this way)

When you go to work which has no relation to FIRST what-so-ever wearing An official FIRST Hat, Tee Shirt, And Sweat Shirt. (I'll post a pic of myself eventually sporting FIRST Merchandise which to my knowledge was made available to the NJ Regionals)
When the Head Regional Volunteers contact you and ask you to pick a job to do at the regional and you can't choose cause you wanna do all of them. (referee etc....) When you continue to think about if anyone would be addicted to FIRST so much to create this years (or future years games) to be played on your cell phone. (not a bad idea if you don't have a Palm Pilot / Laptop) Edit:// When you constantly wonder if theres a way for php to be translated to cell phone languages so that you recieve delphi updates on your cell phone. (this goes for PM's to) |

You see an adult mentor outside of your team meetings and it surprises you for atleast a minute or so that they actually have real lives outside of Robotics...(think about the feeling you had when you were small and going to school. If you ever saw a teacher outside of school it was weird cause...didn't they live at school??)
Not sure if this one was said but... Need safety glasses? No problem! You've suddenly become the proud owner of about a million safety glasses that now cludder your car, room, locker, and even bathroom! A non-FIRST friend thinks your team mates are cute...you look at her like she's come from the funny farm. I mean...that'd be like dating your brother or something...ew. However...you have tried to date someone else from another FIRST team atleast once! |

....when you go to type an option ( 1st , 2nd or 3rd ) you somehow always capatilze the word FIRST, Second, Third rather the First, Second, Third. |

...when you hit the refresh button on FIRST site to see if any regional updates have been posted (same goes for CD) ...when you go to the regionals wearing all the corresponding shirts concerning the teams and volunteering you'll be representing (as silly / stupid as it may be i shall do this got 4 of em to wear already) ...when you get a shaved hair cut with the FIRST logo faded into the cut ...when your phone gets the faceplate with the FIRST logo on it.... I think in april 2002 I saw maybe 1 - 2 people with the FIRST logo'd faceplates for Nokia phones ...when after reading the local newspaper(s) you log onto CD to read more interesting things that seem more logical and have more common sense. ...when wondering what kind of motor pushes the newspaper through the newspaper making machine. ...when you have read this thread fully more then once in the past hour. ...when your buddy list is divided into groups :family / friends / FIRST / CD and Team # (Insert team numbers here) ...when said buddy list contains more various team members names then your grouped family names ...when you have 2 different AIM accounts one for FIRST / CD and one for personal life yet the FIRST / CD contains more names and you use it more often then the other one Edit:// To: BRM789 you know all this time I was doing this editing I never once looked up at that.
