What your suppose to take them off:yikes: maybe that is why every time our team goes to dinner everyone looks at us funny...just playing, but really we do roam around with safety glasses on.

-when you bear -15 celcius at 7 in the morning so you can get to school just to watch the kickoff 9 (mostly in canada)

-when some of the teachers look at you suspiciously when your walking in the corridors carrying a drill, a few screwdrivers, zipties, duct tape, a ladder, hammer....

when you suddenly realize it is February 11 and you walk in and there is an unopened kit and no design and people think it is your teams kit not realizing that your kit is at least opened.

did that even make sense?

...when your family calls you away from robotics work to show you 'that commerical with the robot in it'...

....when you set every clock you can to military time so it shows your team number. [19:23...and i haven't gotten all of 'em yet.]


...when you actually get pulled aside by a teacher to check that you're not carrying anything 'harmful'.




...when your robot's name is optimus prime.

When you stop and add things up,

Over 10 years:

2.5 years of all your "spare" time,

1190 hours of time off from work

and your thinking "I wonder what the game will be next year"

There should have been a warning label somewhere!!

...when you're very, very upset because you can't go to the all-day team meeting because your parents have decided the roads are too bad.

When you start robotics their isn't as much snow, but once you leave there is 5 inches.

When you wish that you could just be snowed into your build area till you finish the bot

I wished for that. I almost got my wish, we haven't had school since monday but we've been working every day almost all day.

when you wont drive through a foot of snow to school but you make it through 2 ditches, a 3 foot tall snowbank and cant see anything in front of you just in your little 1992 ford ranger just so you can work on the robot.
