[shameless plug]What a good time to get your self a Jeep (if on a budget) or (if you have some extra cash) get your self a 4x4 2500 RAM!![/shameless plug]

We now return you to your regurlar posting...

I have owned a Jeep Cherokee, driven a 1500 Dodge Ram (new Gen) and a 98 Durango, and w/ 4x4 on all of them (Jeep w/ 4x4 Full Time) it was a blast to drive in snow! I WANT SNOW IN SOUTHERN MICHIGAN!!!

Adam Krajewski 17-02-2003 16:07

We have 2 to 3 feet of snow on the ground ALL winter.
197.1 inches this winter, so far.

Right now, we're at 32 inches on the ground without it snowing for a few days.

On a side note, I drive a Jeep Cherokee and it is a blast to drive in all our snow. ;)

Hemi? 12 years too late, my friend. The SyTy's are where it's at. ;)
Quote:

The Syclone is a veritable street eater. She's based on the GMC S15 Sonoma. GMC added special ground effects, wheels, and decals to enhance the truck's image. Under it's pretty exterior is a mustang-eating 4.3 liter Vortec V-6. What's so $@#$@#$@#$@# special you're asking? Well, it could be the all wheel drive system that was mated to the (Corvette) TH 700R4 automatic transmission. Or it could be the liquid intercooled turbo that pushes up to 280hp (disputed to be 330hp) and torque up to 360 lb-ft. Only 2995 of these puppies were made in 1991 (3 in 1992). From a stop, 60mph hits you in under 5 seconds, the quarter mile passes under 14.
Quote:

The day's best times? 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds; quarter-mile in 13.08 seconds at 100.44 mph. From a pickup truck! We could list a handful of sports cars that would be envious of those numbers.
The Syclone's engine has almost a full second of turbo lag in its power delivery, which actually works to the truck's advantage. This helps give the Syclone something like a Clark Kent/Superman duality. Without the turbo in effect, the truck is mellow enough to drive in everyday, around-town traffic without feeling like it wants to break its reigns and run. Should you need some instant power, however, to pass, to merge into fast-moving traffic or to get yourself out of a troublesome situation, simply floor the accelerator, count one beat and then watch it go.

1. Lets see GM ever get a truck that is estimated to be near 5,000 lbs (2.5 Tons) near that speed.

2. Did I see TURBO in there? All Naturally Aspirated

3. It's not a Hemi under the hood (get your facts straight). It's a Viper V-10 pumping out 500 HP and 525 Lb-FT of torque

4. Dodge owns GM (:D  )

5. The 2500 Ram won truck of the year.

6. GM just sucks.

7. The Cherokee will out trail/out run any GM

8. How much was that piece? Ram will be it in price also

9. Nuff Said'

:yikes:

Here's the deal

We're in Virginia, which is supposedly a "southern" state

Instead of getting 2 ft of snow like most of the northern east coast, we got 6 inches to a foot of ICE

Virginia doesn't have the snowplows to clear that kind of precipitation

4 wheel drive still doesn't work that well on ice

Our school district superintindent is a wimp- he closes school for everything. We have had school closed for snow, hurricanes, tornados, rain, snipers, TB, you name it.

Even though our sponsor has keys to the school, it is ILLEGAL for students to be at our school.

Our schools are already completely shut down for Tuesday, will most likely be closed Wednesday, and if we go on Thursday it will probably be delayed. Even with this extension we are still in deep trouble.
