We have 3 students leaving. Not to be mean, they weren't that important.

Ben Mitchell 23-06-2001 20:35

we lost a fair amount

We lost about 3/4 of our regular members. The only sub-group unaffected is our 3d team. The three of them are still going strong!

This year we are loosing 6 seniors to graduation, at least one engineer to family life, and possibly some other memebers due to other events. We are going to have had a rough year but if this team is as tough as i know it to be then we will bounce back and have an awesome year.

I'll probably be a leader!

We lost 4 senoirs and 3 of them were VERY important and good drivers, operators and coaches. There were no juniors, just sophomores and freshmen. That leaves me and a few other people my age to be leaders. Hopefully I'll be a driver!:D Human player was fun but I just want to move up.

6 Seniors (Including me)...

Like Anne said earlier, our team loses 6 seniors this year (me included). I think you can refer to her message to see the extent to which that will hinder (or maybe even help) our team.

BUT, like Matt says, not to worry. Even after last year, we only had a core of 4 people returning to the team. Through some recruiting, we were able to increase our original membership size going into this year. Don't worry if you got some losses, I'm SURE that returning members can pick up the slack right where the graduates leave off...

In fact, I'm sure that you guys will do MUCH better without myself and the other 5 seniors (clowns) around. ..

Just my personal thoughts...

Chris;)

271 lost a lot of people, too

271 lost almost all of it's major people, with very few exceptions. Our programmer, drivers, human players, and technical wizards are all off to college. Christina and I are not sure we'll be returning, either, but for some weird reasons.

At any rate, she and I are trying to start a team with our school's money for sponsorship.

All in all, by our count, 271 has three really useful students left, and some endlessly dedicated teachers.

Three?!?! One of those "three" students was suspended for a year for bringing in a knife, that leaves two. One of our sponsors, was his dad, I wonder if he'll return. So, that leaves us with a programmer and someone who did the animation, and sometimes touched the robot.

Programmers touching the robot, that's never good. Is that why they always blamed things on me then?

Matt who's not just a programmer......

13 gone...

We graduated 13 seniors from our team. That included all of our drive team and coaches, except one. We also lost all of our programmers. But, thats usually what happens each year...so on to 2002!

Well, they touched the robot on occasion, and always under supervision. :) And, I don't see anything wrong with blaming the programmer. :p

Fine take Elaine away! She was hogging all the work anyway!*crying like a baby in the background, cos Anne doesn't want Elaine to leave :( *

What??? Did someone say Elaine? I'm here!!! Look!!! I'm here!!! I finally posted a message. Hehe, nobody want's me. I'm hurt now Anne.:( But still, I think I'm really going to miss being on team #368. It was really fun these past two years. But Anne, I know you guys will do well next year even though we(the "all mighty graduating seniors") won't be there to boss you guys around(*Sniff Sniff*). But you guys have to go to the NATIONALS next year!!! We wanted to go for the past two years, but due to financial problems we couldn't go. So you guys have to promise me that you're going to the NATIONALS. It's your destiny.:D Everyone wants to go, so you guys have to do a lot of car washes this year....maybe one every two weeks(torture in the hot Hawaii weather).
Well, I think I've said enough for now...bye bye.:p

This was our second year with FIRST. Our first year, we lost more than half of our team to graduation. This year, we only lost three to graduation. Our first team captain is a Kettering Univ. student, so he was able to work with our team this year while doing his co-op. He also traveled with us to Houston to compete. Next year we will loose about 1/3 of the team. I hate graduation...it's hard to say good bye, but hopefully they will come back to help as much as possible.
