I'm watching some video of last year's nationals, and it seems YMCA was rather popular- enough so to get the judges and refs to form a kickline on the Einstein field, in addition to the mass of dancing teams in front.

I know some techno that's on t.v. is used a bit. Matt Attallah is good at this stuff, he listens to it quite a bit.

Then you'll recognize this picture- my team is in the black shirts.

(apologies for the bad picture quality, grabs of motion video don't usually come out too well as stills)

I think "Blue Monday" by Orgy would go well with a lot of the stuff. Actually, any Orgy song.

Never heard it. Really though, all their songs are techno really. I heard some others from our lab last saturday, and if I can, I'll get the info.

Ashes 21-02-2003 14:34

IRI = Indiana Robotics Invitational... It's an off season competition held in Indianapolis at Lawrence North High School the home of team 1024 the Kill-a-bites. Last year we brought in 30 + teams, including 330 which is from California. If you or your team is interrested, watch the posts in the off season forum or PM me and I can get you some info when it is available

John Bono 26-02-2003 18:32

Scott Norton - Now is the Time
I'm trying to convince the boss to let us use that for intro music. Right now all we have is a binch of over heard stuff from the Matrix soundtrack (no, you fools--this isn't some rare find; we've all heard this a hundred times. It's not cool anymore. It wasn't very cool to begin with).

Hmm...for some reason I thought that 128 had come to IRI one year (maybe i was thinking of kickoff). IRI is normally a pretty good off season competition that has more excitment (for a longer period of time) than some regionals that I've been to. If any team is free this summer July, I highly recommend looking into it.

hixofthehood 27-02-2003 22:43

Last year I remember hearing a lot of "We Like to Party" and "Sandstorm"

Were the songs ever named? If so, do you have access to the names?
I got a copy of an original from Nats 2000, so I don't know if there was ever a track listing. If one exsists, that would be really cool.

Re: Music??

Well, there was more than one CD made. Theres like 2 or 3 different CDs, all with different songs, from different years. Do you happen to know what cover/label the original CD has? I definitely have access to the track listings for one CD, but its not the good one. I'll see what I can do bout the others. I'll ask our alumni and leaders, and see if we can find it for you. It might be in our archives (cluttered storage closet).
