where seniors are attending college?

Just curious, any1 planning on attending GT or UF or anywhere here down SOUTH?

Tom Fairchild 15-01-2002 22:46

Georgia Tech, all the way!!! Go Jackets!!

~Tom Fairchild~, who can't wait to go! Shout out to team 608!

Pat Bogard 15-01-2002 22:50

Next fall I will be headed to Johns Hopkins...a little south but not as far down as GT or UF

Anyone planning on going to Rose-Hulman ?

It's a great place to learn engineering - (small classes, great teachers, beautiful campus), but a bit on the pricey side. (that's called an understatement). I've basically got a ten year mortgage on my education. But hey! At least they can't reposses it!

Come to Clarkson, we've got snow... and cold... and FIRST!

Carolyn Duncan 16-01-2002 01:27

While I'm not a senior I am looking to go to Florida Institue of Technology. It sounds good from what ive heard and they set up working with NASA KSC due to the proximity.

Hey! I've been accepted there :) their summer program (Operation Catapult) was great and that got me hooked. I might end up at Virginia Tech, or at WPI...depending on scholarships.
Fortunately, my parents have told me that more than likely, I'll be going to Rose next year - which would be great!

RoboGirll 16-01-2002 15:23

Yo Tom-

You gonna be a Yellow Jacket?

Pamela 16-01-2002 15:38

Florida Institute of Technology is a really cool school, it has a beautiful campus, big dorms, small classes, and excited professors, but there is NOTHING to do aroudn there except go to the beach. :( I need more excitement! BTW, how do all you people already know where you are going!?1?1 I got into schools, and applyed to schools, but no decision has been made yet, although, I must say, if I get alot of money at WPI, Northeastern or Clarkson thats where I'll prolly be headed

...it's also one of the few schools whose application doesn't require an essay :)

<shameless plug>

If youre not interested in an engineering school, dont despair!!!

I am a technophile, and its the reason why I like FIRST...and after 3 years on a team, I left rather than an intense desire to be a part of the engineering field, I left with a desire to go into business/entrepreneurship....and infuse as much of the technology field into what I do as possible.

The point of that post? Like business? come to Babson College and become the 2nd FIRST-er on campus (and keep me company!)

And if you want to go into engineering, Olin College is a real purty school, even though it's still not built yet. And you'd only be across the parking lot!!!

Ok, Im done for now.

LoL, excited to meet another jacket? Let's go through your questions.

1) No, haven't been accepted yet, but I'm counting on it (its the only school I applied to!) and aren't real worried about it.

2) I already sent out an e-mail to GA Tech's team, #608. Seems like a fun group. From what I saw on their website, they do a bunch of other competitions as well as FIRST.

3) Nope, didn't get the President's Scholarship myself, but my best friend Brent made the first cut. He's still in the process of finding out if he got the full thing.

4) I live in southeast VA in a small town called Poquoson. Its near Hampton, Norfolk, VA Beach, that area.

5) Only other FIRSTer I know of going to GT is my friend Brent, previously mentioned.

So what's your story? Are you going down (or in your case up) there too?

~Tom Fairchild~

I'm on team #93 from Appleton, Wisconsin. From our team, everyone and their grandma go to Michigan Tech. (O.K....not everyone...) I don't want to go into engineering either (like Jessica). I want to go into Advertising, but I have still found my place on the team. I do a lot of stuff for fundraising, getting our team name out into the community, Chairman's, all that good stuff.
