I violently disassembled our 2001 robot with a hammer. Of course after taking any useful parts off:D

Actually, we used our 2k1 bot for training (and allll our demos). It's beat up but it keeps on truckin'.

And it could stack boxes pretty good. It could right them from any position and stack them (one by one) pretty darn high.

But.... it was made to be a low-riding robot, so it cannot get on to the top of the ramp and therefore over to the other side.. maybe we can shave down the side panels and adjust stuff a little so it can do that :P

2001 robot... what 2001 robot? :D

Oh, I remember now... the one we learned what not to do :yikes:

Duncan worked well Al and Brian put some rubber straps on it and it picked up a box! Cool finished and with 5 weeks to go!!

Actually we did the same uesd it for pratice testing automous etc until the real pratice bot was done (first year we ever built one)

Amazing, I absolutely hate our 2001 robot also! It broke after nearly every match, however it single handedly made us change how we build our robots from then on, robust now is the new key word

Absolutely! We had the same issue... we really over-designed that bot. It did absolutely everything under the sun, but did nothing well. It wasn't reliable, either. We broke the same part about 4 times. Now, simplicity and robustness are our key design requirements. The robot has to be able to survive the rigors of continual competition, and Tippy just wasn't up to that.

It really was bad, though... in all 5 of our other seasons, we never once missed the finals. That year, we never even MADE the finals...
