I've never like the traditional fantasy RPGs like FF. I've prefered platoformers, action games, and good FPS.

FF5. Definitely because of job classes. Strategy is one thing very much missing from most others, although 7 was pretty good about it.

ok you ask for our favorites but only list the newer ones, that either means that you just recently started playing since ff7 came out, you are foolish enough to believe that graphics are what matter, or you like the fact that wow my character can hit 28 times for 9999 damage (7 and 8) which meant if you get a particular move you win, if you don't you will most likely not win. Personally I have beaten every Final Fantasy game out there (and not just the versions released in this country) personally I liked ff5 best with 6 (released as 3 for the super nintendo) being a close second.
only really bad ones were Mystic Quest (not even made by Square Soft), Adventure (gameboy), and last of all 8 (draw magic and equip it, who thought that one up) but was not really impressed with any of the gameboy ones |
OK, I liked the Final Fantasy movie and to tell you the truth have not actually taken the time to really get into any background storyline for the games, but.... I hate the role playing games that are cheesey little people with a group following behind you and the characters are small people with big heads. They look like kids, I can't take an rpg seriously if the charcters remind me of little kids.
As for realistic rpg's try Tomb Raider, Silent Hill, or Medievil for some actual realistic character modeling. And (shockingly) true to life body and head size ratio. Well exept for Sir Daniel Fortesque in Medievil, when half a body is more like it. |
OK...
First of all, Tomb Raider, Silent Hill, and Midievil are NOT RPGs; they are adventure games, or in the case of Silent Hill, horror/adventure games. There.
Now, as for the case of FF RPGs, I think FF6 is the best out of the bunch, with FFX being the worst (FF Mystic Quest is NOT really a game... its a lesson in what not to do in a game). However, for the best RPG, I would have to say Xenogears. The wonderful plot, awesome character designs, level of difficulty, and overall time spent playing it places it at the top of my list. -Ash |

And another thing Final Fantasy's proportions aren't nearly as bad as you make them out to be. For instance FFX, the characters are almost real! Quote:

GG n00b... no FF3? What's up with that? FF3 > all.
Yeah, I know about the 'other' selection, but that doesn't give it any justice as the best FF out there. And FF3 > FF6 :p. |
GG n00b? I'm sure you meant FF n00b, and the typo deamon is haunting you today. ANYWHO, FF3 is a great game but I don't like it as much as say 2(4)! And I am not a n00b I've played em all, and from experience I can say FF3 isn't the best. In my book anyway.
Anyone else here like Chrono Trigger? |

Now look who's the n00b... :D I check my posts before submission so there usually aren't many (or any) errors. Quote:

ff1 and ff7 are pesonal fav's 7 takes the cake though. 10 could have been soo much cooler but it was a big let down in the end.
