Linkin Park's new cd!

Hey all.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm a rabid Linkin Park fan. The new CD is coming out March 25th.
Do you guys know about LPTV? It's an online collection of episodes in which Linkin Park chronicles the recording of Meteora, their new album. It's also got hidden audio clips from the new CD, including the first single, Somewhere I Belong.

If you want to see it, click on the link below!
http://www.bandbuilder.com/lptv/inde...ef_code=F15997.

and even if you don't want to see it...click it anyway, because then it helps me out with my dastardly referral contest on LPU...but seriously, it's hella cool. :D

Thanks all.

Didn't a new Linkin Park album get released recently? December? I'm not a big Linking Park fan (too popular).

AdamT 25-02-2003 16:08

Just remixes of the old stuff....can we say blah?

And Linkin Park in general.....blah....

that's just me...

It was in July; They released an album that contained remixed versions of songs on their first album.

I hope their second album is more like the non-remixed versions of their first album.

Im not to fond of Linkin Park anymore. Too overpublicized and overplayed. I liked them at one point and its quite unfortunate that happened. They are more anoying then anything. Heh but I still wear my Linkin Park T-shirt ;)

Jon K. 25-02-2003 16:12

Eh. I don't like the new song but.... Did anyone else notice that the new cd is coming out later in the States than abroad.

evulish 25-02-2003 16:27

Many albums do that, I think.

And was the last one really released in July? Wow. Time flies. Maybe I'm thinking of another band...too much music knowledge :)

Dan Richardson 25-02-2003 18:10

man I can't wait for that one to be released

Dan Richardson 25-02-2003 18:40

I just listened to that new somewhere I belong song again.. omg its so amazing

the new song is awesome. I listen to it all the time(at least 5 times a day). The cd always comes out a day earlier overseas. i also like the referal link. I'm part of the LPU too. but i don't care enough to go and try to get a link :)

Pin Man 25-02-2003 21:12

I'm not really into them

Wetzel 25-02-2003 23:27

While the second album was Hybrid Theory remixed +afew songs, most of it was remixed radicaly enough to sound entirely different.

Personaly I prefer Reanimation.

The latest new cd I was looking foward to was Massive Attack, but was rather disapointed.

Wetzel

Dan Richardson 26-02-2003 16:27

thier remix was sweeet also, I havn't been dissapointed with much they've done so far I wrather enjoy them

Clark Gilbert 26-02-2003 17:56

I heard a little bit of the new song on MTV a few days ago. I liked the two albums that are already out, although they are getting a little overplayed. Overall I'll probably end up buying the new album in March. :)

hixofthehood 27-02-2003 21:45

Hybrid Theory is an excellent album, but Reanimation just wasn't my style. Unrelatedly, I think "In the End" will be a classic that reminds me of high school and robotics. I think they played it at least five times at Nationals last year.

If their new album is anything as good as Hybrid Theory, it will have my respect and admiration.

Ryan Dognaux 26-03-2003 20:40

Well peoples it's out... anyone have it...? I do! It's pretty good... I still like Hybrid Theory more.. but this one will grow on me kinda like Hybrid Theory did :)

If you don't have it, wait for the price to go down.. and get it!

ssjcell 26-03-2003 20:57

hey OGRE, in your what im listening to at the momen t thing in your sig. it says your listenign to QOTSA, what are you doing listening to linkin park? QOTSA is great

i heard their new album is like 35 min long, thats really crappy. i wouldnt buy that i wouldnt buy any linkin park, who cares if it has a dvd.

the new qotsa video out, cel shading is cool

linkin park is way too overproduced, their like the def leppard of 2000's

Joe Matt 26-03-2003 22:06

Don't know about you guys, but I'm looking forward to the new Blue Man Group CD, The Complex, myself. It comes out April 22nd. Man, I can't wait to hear a BMGified version of 'White Rabbit'.:D

Ryan Dognaux 27-03-2003 14:57

It is only 36 minutes long.. that may be a downfall.. but it is short and sweet :) and what do you guys mean by over-produced?? Like too much mixing in their songs or what? I think they have a really unique sound.. I like them.

ssjcell 27-03-2003 15:41

overproduced,

the songs sound in general, to much is put into it

plus, compare live to the studio, that dude who screams all the time he cracks live

Christina47 27-03-2003 18:14

HA! they're pretty cool and cute. wink* nice cd fellaz. make it a million. haha.:yikes:

I think that's what makes it great.. the fact that they do put a lot into their music... some music is just carelessly thrown together, and it's just bad, but you can tell that this has been polished.I've never heard them live.. and I don't really intend to.. so that doesn't matter.

MBiddy 27-03-2003 19:27

Forget Linkin Park. Metallica's new album is coming June 10. Yeah-aaaahhhh!

Ryan Dognaux 27-03-2003 21:37

Oh yeah.. a new CD of 10 minute long intros to songs.. man I can't wait for that

MBiddy 27-03-2003 22:03

Hell yeah-aaaahhh! I wish Metallica would bring back all the long intros. Almost all the songs on the albums before Load had at least a minute of intro. That was so awesome. I want intros that are longer than most pop artists' entire songs.

JAH 28-03-2003 20:54

I went and bought hybrid theory after it came out. I thought i would like it...i didn't care for it too much after i spent the 13 dollars on the cd. I was jumping for joy when i found out that everclear just came out with a new cd. It is called Slow Motion Daydream and i think it is really good. I have their other 5 cds...and i was shocked that i didn't know about this one. I definitely recommend it though...it is relaxing although the main song they are marketing right now is like the worst on the cd i think.

Raven_Writer 28-03-2003 21:03

I've got the new album by LP. It's a pretty decent record though.

But I've noticed a few things...

"Easier To Run" sounds like Runaway but w/ more beats
"Session" is like the bonus track of Hybrid Theory EP and Cure For the Itch
"Breaking the Habit" has been done before, just in a different style
"Somewhere I Belong" [SIB] is like "A Place For My Head"
Chester [sp?] sounds great live!
The lyrical background is the same as "Hybrid Theory"
They have the same style of singing as "Hybrid Theory"
Metallica is the original band members anymore, though. I was really dissapointed after i saw this. i had just bought summer sanitarium tix.

The Lp album is great. i think its better than HT. yes, it's only 36 min long but it makes up for the quantity in quality.

Ryan Dognaux 29-03-2003 20:44

I agree w/ you Ogre, 36 minutes of great music :D ... but I dunno if it's better than Hybrid Theory... HT was one good album.

Joe Matt 29-03-2003 22:10

Only 36 mins long? Wow, talk about short. Most of my CDs average around 45-90 mins long.

DarkRedDragon 30-03-2003 09:31

i dont really mind the 36 min of songs. There is some serious rocking music on this cd. My fave has to be faint, cool intro. Chester has finaly taken a larger roll, he sounds so $@#$@#$@#$@# good! Anyone know of any kind of breakdance that goes with it?
But hands down, this is one of the best cd's this year so far. Metallica should be good, love playing their music!
