My band director is some-what obsessed with broadway musicals, so we do those for marching shows every year (practically). And I think my freshman year we did Les Mis and we also went to NYC to see it actually performed, along with Miss Saigon. It was wonderful :) We got to play Master of the House on the field, hehe.

Of course, I realize how silly it is now to have questioned Master of the House when the really controversial song is Lovely Ladies.

Here's a really interesting site with Les Mis quizes: Les Mis

Yeah, in lovely ladies I have...*counts* 1,2,3...4 or 5 whores. Yes, we are doing that scene, also are we doing Thenardier's song, Master of the House. Chris Becker (He's actually a brit, transfer student) gets to slap 3 or 4 butts throughout.

NO!!!! NO NO NO NO! j/k, I get over-reactive when people get the titles wrong, lmao! It's technically called the epilogue. Seriously.

On this page, I write my last confession
Read it well, when I, at last, am sleeping
It's a story of those who always loved you!

yes, i know you have, what? 5 whores in that scene and at least 3 or 4 in the docks scene *is not happy about her boyfriend being one of the pimps/lowlifes in this musical*

I love the musical ~ have for years. Couldn't do it, though since I have no time with robotics. also have ZERO confidence in my voice, and that has NOT been helped by, oh, anyone. heh, yeah, have never had anyone (who's actually heard me sing) say they like my voice. I have a good ear for intonation (from being a flautist for years), but... yeah... anywho

Actually, blame this one on the Internet (and having to post from work). I knew the lyrics, but I couldn't remember the song title and so I did a search on google. This site has it listed under Beggars At The Feast: Les Mis Lyrics Plus, my original broadcast recording calls it the Finale, not the epilogue, which I realized when I listened to the CD yesterday. I do think my CD is missing a song or two.

Sweetheart, the whore scene and the Docks are one and the same. ;) And please stop complaining! lol! I keep hearing about it, haha.

Oh, I see, MI. Mine is missing quite a few songs. I actually got it from purpledaisy, she gave me her soundtrack for a while.

mgreenley 02-03-2003 16:27

Well, right now I'm beating myself silly because I chickened out of trying out. However I do know the words to just about every song...

All is not lost though! I will be at Le Miz selling tickets, and "staff" get to watch FREE. Still not quite as good as being in it though.

...Its better to sing with than sing along.

Lasly as Le Miz is the only musical I've memorized, I guess that via my extrodinary process of elimination it is one of my favorites.

MarkF 02-03-2003 20:14

I'm hereby Ammedning my previous Favorite Song Statement. I must say my all time fave in this musical is now Attack on Rue Plummet. The energy level of that song ALWAYS gets me psyched. Hell week starts TOMORROW!!! We have 3-10 rehearsals (that's after school to bedtime, people!) starting sometime this week and running through to the performances. Time for me to start taking a pillow and blankey to the auditorium where we rehearse....and no, I am NOT joking. The auditorium is closer to home right now that anything but home itself. I gotta start taking homework there, too.

By the way, mgreenley, if we hear anyone singing along in the audience while we're up on stage performing, we will hunt them down and beat them to tar after the show. ;)

you're right, i got confused... i thought you were talking about Master of the House, not the docks scenes. i'm sorry.

oh, and my cds are not missing many songs. only a few, and those are the transition songs. btw, i'd like them back sometime... especially considering that they're actually my mom's...

MarkF 02-03-2003 22:42

Don't worry dear, you'll have them back soon. I need a new blank tape and I'll be able to copy them and give you back the CD's.
