Think the Segway is expensive. It costs $1500 for the purafier and generator. $3200 for the Sterling.

Ya know, you really are bordering on O.C.D. behavior with that! j/k

So this is what we saw on 60min?

if it is, I am very happy cept for the price tag.

Jeff Waegelin 28-02-2003 20:30

You had to know it would be expensive, though. A new product concept like the Stirling engine is always expensive. And yes, it is, more or less, the same product that was on 60 minutes (at least in concept).

Very Cool, I like how he showed it off at a oil conference... big slap in the face

Jeff Waegelin 28-02-2003 22:27

Yeah, it's definitely ironic, to say the least.

Where's this OMD stuff from, anyways?

Alfred Thompson 11-03-2003 14:04

For what it does and for its total cost of ownership the price is not so bad. Alternative power sources would be comparable in purchase price but would generally be much more expensive in fuel costs. And the purifier equipment itself is, I suspect, much more costly. You have to look at comparative costs not just literal costs.
