Hee hee! Do you also decorate your jeans and shirts with random pieces of duct tape? I heard that metal scraps are good for your skin also. As for everybody, I do believe a general first uniform should be issued and a general makeup kit with instructions. :ahh:

Duct Tape Cloaks??? no no no... Search on ChiefDelphi for Duct Tape Kilts... Now that's where it's at!!

There was a lot of talk about that last year for Nationals!

Amanda M 28-03-2003 12:22

Ah! The power of Duct Tape! hahaha! I made duct tape pants for Nationals this year. To-night I am making my friend a skirt to wear. It will be awesome! haha! If you want to sugn them, look me up!

There was a team at SVR with duct tape vests. I think they were from Alaska.

1."Could said necklace be caught in a transmission?" Yes/no. If yes, go to question 2a, If no go to question 2a....

lol..yeah...

heh, and motor grease does look great anywhere! (At least to me ;))

Duct tape is a great idea at FIRST competitions, although I did not see a whole lot at the West Michigan Regional. I kind of missed teams like 648 and their duct- and electrical-taped ninjas.

Considering this year's kit, you kids would have to be messing around with more than just motors for grease - the van door motor, drills, etc. don't have any grease, just the Fisher Price, and that's clear!

Elyse Holguin 06-04-2003 18:41

::shudders at the thought of our cursed fisher-price motor, and the robodawg's fisherprice motor that was ripped apart in semifinals (they got it changed before the finals)::

the fisher price motors supply enough light orangy yellow grease. trust me.

as for the beaded necklaces, they were cute, but i didn't wear them, even those get in the way when you're in the pits, the human players were wwearing them, but they gave them to me during our matches, and i ended up making another teammate hold them. they were a very cute idea, but not practical. same goes for those leis. the only thing i wore were a pair of screwback earrings that i can't ever take off, and they're studs so they don't exactly get in the way, and two rings, but i think i'm leaving one of those at home for nats for fear of death if it gets damaged or lost!

but the duct tape.... we cover part of our team shirts with either duct tape or a button... the school city's administration put something onto our shirts without notifying us and we REALLY dislike it, enough so that the engineers and parents designed and ordered their own shirts. (if you really wanna know i'll show you it @ nats)

Josh Hambright 07-04-2003 09:02

Weren't you guys told not to wear your new shirts to competitions or something like that?

I saw them and i was pretty flabbergasted and can understand why the engineers wont wear them.

The grease on the motors isn't that bad! When it gets on your hands its usualy clear...unless you get the whole GLOB of it.

OHH! I came up with a new tip over during the regionals this year... I dont know is anyone else is a dork and still wears their SME cards but i do...and my old team IDs...and a few buttons from a select teams i really like or that i admire...and a las gorilas bannan i have had since we won Ford Sweet Repeat with them a couple years ago.... anyways i kept getting it stuck in stuff when i would bend over so just throw it under your shirt and it keeps it outa the way! Seems simple but it took me awhile to figure this one out!

Amanda Morrison 07-04-2003 15:03

Haha Josh.

I was so sad they didn't give out SME cards this year. I still have mine from last year, and the tons of ID's that were made for us. I'm still one of the only Team Hammond members/alumni to have their very own IRI Zone Zeal Team Hammond ID.
