Now, how to get on the field... =)

I'll be on field all day all three days at the New England regional, too bad none of these bets apply up here =P

(I'm field reset crew)

3 dozen Krispy Kremes? Seems like a bit of a let down. Now 3 dozen Dunkin' Donuts... that's worth it.

::runs to avoid Dave's wrath::

D.J. Fluck, how am I going to get on stage?!

We'll have to work on that. I have no clue.

However... tonight at our meeting, after everyone got out their cameras and tried to coerce me into the Funky Chicken, I told them about posting on Delphi here and told them that I didn't want my pin back, and that I had Krispy Kremes coming. And that I wasn't sharing. =)

But if you get me up there, maybe there's a Krispy Kreme in it for you... mwahaha.:D

You could do it during the practice rounds, or try to talk someone into letting you be the coach for one match. This will guarantee you at least 4 different times you can step onto the field. If you do it on Friday all you have to do is walk to your robot w/ the driver/operator/human player after the end of the match and dance away (while they are getting the robot).

Just an idea that would probably work. :]

Amanda Morrison 05-03-2003 00:41

Good idea, Clark. I _really_ don't want to be center of attention or anything, but that sounds good!

p.s.- if any of the field crew want to swap shirts for a bit... =)

Pay up

Well Dave,

It looks like your buying a dozen Krispy Kremes. I don't have pictures myself, but several other team members do. We also have the video of the dance. It was between matches when the announcer called everyones attention to the stage to watch. After she started, the rest of the audience joined in. I'm sure someone will post pictures and maybe a link to the video soon.

I wanna see proof!

Assuming that such confirmation is available, is there a chance you will be in Houston for delivery of your award? Maybe we can work it out so they are delivered in my custom-built, one-of-a-kind, Krispy Kreme delivery vehicle. (please, please, someone tell me that they got a picture of my trusty KK-drive-through box-mobile displayed at VCU - I don't have any, and it may not have made the return journey successfully!). If not, E-mail me for delivery arrangements.

I dont know if she will be or not, but if not, I'll collect them for her since I'll be there ;) Also, I think Clark, Andy B, Dan Green and I should get one for our support and help to make that possible ;)

Amanda Morrison 10-03-2003 04:04

Andy Baker talked to Dan Greene and one thing led to another...

We're working on getting video and some pictures. Houston looks uncertain... I can let you know.
I've already got team members calling dibs on them. :D

I would like to proudly post the result in video form. This is not edited! It doesn't have sound (sorry, I'll try to get a different version from Shrutish, but for now, enjoy!), but it clearly shows her on the field doing the funky thang!

Good work Amanda, enjoy the donuts!

Well... If this is one way to get FIRSTers to notice you...

We're having a meeting on Wednesday, and we'll get the video with sound then. :p

Jon K. 17-03-2003 15:15

So did you ever get your pin back anyways.

Amanda Morrison 17-03-2003 22:34

Shortly after shaking my groove thing, one of the kids from my team (whom I LEAST suspected) came and 'fessed up. I got my pin back, and it is now kept safe and sound in my room.

Remember: You never double cross Amanda, kids... or dare her, apparently. :p

dlavery 18-09-2003 22:13

As of this evening, the debt from the bet is (finally!) paid in full!

Lesson learned #1: never dare Amanda on a bet over ANYTHING!

Lesson learned #2: It is easier to find Amelia Earhart than it is to track down Amanda to a given place and time so you can pay off the debt! I now know who helped write the Monty Python "How To Hide" sketch!!! :)

I am chowing down on my reward as we speak!

Thanks to Dave and Andy for the best delivery ever... when Andy handed me the phone, all I heard was 'Hey Dave', and the Midwester in me thought, "Why would Dave Verbrugge want to talk to me?!"

And a big hug to Andy to set this whole thing up. :)
