Scruffy was not the dog's name. Bain was. The neice was Penny.

Scruff Macduff *or something simular* was the cartoon dog against drugs. Maybe that's why?

Take a bite out of crime!!!

Another obscure one that no one seems to remember, Pirates of Dark Water. A show about the crazy pirates that had to stay on the ship cause the "ocean" was made from some weird killer black ooze!

FAKrogoth 06-03-2003 19:39

Actually, Pirates of Dark Water isn't completely forgotten, it's still on Cartoon Network at some strange time.

Second, Inspector Gadget was never a very good show. It was too predictable, even when I was a child.

Third, Babylon 5 is neither obscure nor old. If it were, however, it would be a fantastic addition to this thread.

MBiddy 06-03-2003 20:34

I think the Inspector Gadget dog was named Brain, since he was smart.

Remember Gumby? That was surreal.
I remember tons of Warner Bros. cartoons too.

2 Stupid Dogs! That was crazy!

Wasn't Scruffy also the name of Scooby's nephew?

Anyone remember the Nintendo show?? It had Mario and Luigi and I think there was some cartoons too.. My memeory is fuzzy on that one.

I remember Nintendo cereal too. Did you know that the Nintendo cereal was the only cereal that was in a black colored box? It was actually two cereals, super mario and legend of zelda, leading the song on the commercial to state,
"Nintendo, it's two cereals in one".

Oh and while we're on the whole dog's name idea, in Fraggle Rock the dog's name was Sprocket.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about her dog. lol Punky Brewster aka Soleil Moon Frye, I had such a crush on her at the time. She's actually on Sabrina the teenage witch now and still looking good!! She doesn't wear two different color shoes on that show though! lol

Another show I remeber is the Sarturday morning cartoon Little Rosie. It was a junior version of Rosanne Barr.

You are probably not thinking of the show "Super Mario Bros. 3"

You speak of the Super Mario Bros Show. I have vague memories of it, but "Do the Mario!" will be forever etched into my brain. The show featured both Zelda and Mario Bros. cartoons and came out along with the cereals. I could get you a link to the cereal's commercial if you want it.

Ok, I was an avid tv watcher when I was younger so here is the list.

The Sercert World Of Alex Mack: about a girl who had blonde hair and had some weird chemical get on her and was thus able to transform into a metallic silver liquid. She also had some special powers but I can't remember what.
~
Space Cases: This was one of those Nick ones that only lasted a very short time. I don't remember the plot or anything save for the fact they were in space and one of the main characters had rainbow colored hair and was female. (does anyone remember this show??)

Space Cases was pretty cool and is mostly forgotten. I remember when (Susie?) was replaced in the show by her imaginary friend. It didn't last long after that.

I remember a ton about Alex Mack, most of her friends, the evil plant people (the guy, the woman, and the driver of the truck), etc...
Her two special powers (which any kid would love to have) are (1) telekinesis and (2) the ability to make herself into goo that could still see at floor level and move around. That got her out of many-a-jam.

My show contribution? Oh, darn, I forget it now.

Oh, yeah! The adventures of Tin-Tin! a comic book series and good animated action show on Nick. That Scottish Terrier was so cool.

Does anyone remember the science show? Where they did different science experiments, it wasn't bill nye, it was something else, and they did little things that kids could do.

321 Contact came on right before Square One, and at the end of Square One they had Mathnet, which was the best show ever, except it was almost always a repeat. I can't say FIRST turned me onto math and science because it was most definately Square One.

MacGuyver was on sometime in there too. I loved summer vacations and the quality daytime TV. :)
The only man who can kill people with floss. And there's always a river nearby. Go Richard Dean Anderson.

What about Perfect Strangers? I loved Balky.

Brandon Martus will hear me on this one, I think - Captain Kangaroo.

And now that I think back, I was destined for FIRST - my favorite show, back in the VERY Dark Ages, was Small Wonder. The robot girl that lived with the normal family? And she slept in the closet, and wore that white and red pinafore?

I am SO old.

Can't say that I've ever seen it.

Anybody remember 'Out of this World'? The 1/2 alien girl who lived with her human mom, and talked to her dad at the end of each show. She could stop time by putting her two index fingers together, and start time by clapping.
