Ooh, I remember those. *Nostalgia* Power Rangers were the best thing ever, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Hungry Hungry Hippos? How could anybody forget them?

Or the Lego Space shuttle? First set I ever built, 1992, I built it outside, and it was on a table with crayons on it as well. Crayons + sun = shiney goo.

Mentioning crayons, remember when the 64-crayon box first came out? When there were 8 "mystery" colors that we got to name? I remember they had white wrappings and "name this color" on the side.

Hungry Hungry Hippos was awesome!

Remember Trouble, Mouse Trap, Don't Wake Dad, and Operation?

Yeah. In fact, I still have 4 out of 5 of those.

Speaking of old games: Sega Genesis (and the afforementioned Sonic the Hedgehog games)! I still play mine, although lately I've been weening myself towards using an emulator for it. I imagine some people here must have old Commodores, Ataris, and NESs.

I still have my NES and in fact after reading your post I went upstairs to where it is in the closet and saw what games I still have for it.

Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt (this is the one that came with the unit I believe)
Rad Racer
Excite Bike
Spelunker
Top Gun
Football
Super Spike V' Ball
Roger Clemens' MVP Baseball

I want to kick myself now. I had more games but threw them away years ago because I wanted more space in the closet and decided to clean out. I still have all the paperwork, cables, the two controlers, and the gun for Duck Hunt for the NES also.

I still have the old-school Nintendo .. the original .. the grey box .. and that is the only video game system we have ever had .. and it still works .. especially the duck hunt game ...

and about the games ... i used to love operation ... but then me and my brother got into a fight and threw the pieces at each other .. and they were never seen after ..

Apple IIs? I used to use one... Elementary school, an old k1 building. They may still use them...

Anyone get a Commorore? My dad had one, and when I was, like, 5, we used to play games on it. We only had 2. For the longest time we had the monitor lieing around. We finally tossed it when we moved.

I still have the NES too... Among the 20-ish games my brother got were: Mega Man 3, Kirby's Adventure, RBI Baseball (ah, yes, the waddling players who were bean-balled many times by my pitchers :D), Pac-Man, Final Fantasy (off of which the webcomic 8-Bit Theater is based), Super Mario 3, and Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt (stupid dog...). Complete with the two controllers and Duck Hunt gun. Ack! Almost forgot... Bubble Bobble!

as for old TV shows... Ren & Stimpy, Animaniacs, Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, Ghost Writer (I had a pen on a string and a notebook like theirs and I think I still have a page or two in that notebook with "info" on "suspects"... yeah I was and still am a weird kid :o), Dinosaurs!, TMNT, all those other cartoons based on comics like X-Men, Saved by the Bell, Sailor Moon (hate to admit it), all those DragonBall shows.

I think I still have my pogs... And after going through this thread, I recently pulled out my Pound Puppy and started carrying it around the house again. Koosh balls were cooooool... Still got a couple of those too I think. Packrat-ing is fun. Used to have Kid Pix but I fear that it's been trashed. Ooh and MAD Magazine was cool. Anyone like/play Clue, the board game? Or Clue Jr...

Do they still make Cracker Jacks? I don't see them around anymore... T-T There were Squeeze-Its too. Hm... Anyone else feel old now?

Ah....Oregon Trail on the Apple II. Remember when you went out hunting and shot every buffalo, deer, bear, and squirrel that dared to appear on your screen, obtaining some 15,000 pounds of meat, knowing full well you could only bring back like 100? I always found that amusing.

Anyone remeber Fun House on TV and the computer game?

How many people can say that they have the original 1988 Nintendo? Now how many people can say that that is the only gaming system they have ever had? That's right. that is all there is in my house. No N64 .. No Sega .. No Game Boys .. No PS2s ... AND it is still in working order as I was playing it just this past weekend .. Gotta love that Super Mario and Double Dragon .. games that are both as old as me ....

I can!!!! And I'm pretty sure it still works, it's been about a year since I played it. However that is not the only gaming system we have. We also have an Atari!! Frogger and Pac-Man are still my favorite video games. :D

Speaking of which, I remember the old ABC Saturday morning cartoon show "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog". That was good, but not as good as Sonic X. :D

Anyone remember the cartoon Captain Planet? That cartoon will probably shape the next generation's energy and enviromental policies.
BTW, I loved playing with my Teddie Ruxpen. He told me stories through a tape player located in his back. His mouth would move and eyes blinked while he told the story. He was one of my best friends.

You're not the only one! I adored it all. I personally loved the green ranger. Hehe, but as for the girl I had to choose Pink. Mainly because she was just awesome. I had the gloves that made sounds when you moved, the pajamas, you name it. I think I have the picture somewhere of me in those...=D Gotta love Christmas when you're 6-7.

My older sister had a Teddie Ruxpen and I used to think it was the coolest thing in the world.
Anyone remember those fruit snacks that were in the shape of airplanes? I used to love those. I can remember in 6th grade my English teacher had an Apple IIE for everyone in our class. But we only used them a few times, and those were only for word processing. I don't think that he had any of the awesome games (number munchers, oregon trail, etc.). I can't believe this is the first time I noticed this thread, it's brought back so many good memories.

Last summer I worked as a computer technician for the school district. On one of my work orders, the elementary school classroom I visited had two Apple IIe's and they were still using them! I said to the teacher "Do you realize these are 20 years old!" She knew, but said they still worked great and the kids still have fun with them. I've still got my IIC+

I remember playing a 2-d computer game back in the 5th grade entitled One Must Fall. I still have the game saved on my C drive. It was very fun and very challenging.

Time for me to chime back in about the wonders of the latest spinoff: It's got the original green/white ranger (Tommy). Looking back on the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: okay, it was lame, but lame in the way that you're supposed to like. Stories were terrible, but really, it was all about the fight scenes and megazord battles, and that's what made it. Then first two spinoffs came (and that abysmal second movie) and killed the franchise. But it's gotten better since then (Space is still the single greatest of the franchise when it comes to story lines). They actually have stories and decent writing. I started watching again after 5-6 years with this latest spinoff. There's been a new production company since last season, good actors, CG, and for the most part, stories are good enough that both a kid and an old fan can watch. Alright, adding the original green ranger was a cheap attempt at boosting ratings (though it did work).

And yeah, I actually brought the megazords from this season (gotta love the interchangability). I feel young... wait, that's a good thing.

And I also remember when this thread was new. :p
