FIRST 2003 - The year of the Snow.

Funny Patterns often happen in nature.
Is it a coincidence that there has been a huge snowstorm on:

a) The weekend of Kickoff - prompting the practice bot that FIRST built during the kickoff to be named "Snow-Bot".
b) The weekend \ days leading up to shipping. - Prompting the Shipping date to be moved back a few days.
c) The weekend of the first set of regionals, with snow again hampering events at the Verizon Center in Manchester NH, home of the snowed in Kickoff. (I wonder if the Snow-Bot is making a special guest appearance)

I hope to all things sacred, that it DOES NOT snow in Houston for the Championship Event.

But who knows, stranger things have happened.

Houston snow is called ice by the rest of us.

First of all Houston snow is called a miracle.

In the 14 years i lived in Houston it snowed twice. Only once it was cold enough for it to stick for a few hours.

If it did snow during Nationals I would be scared, literally scared, Who know what other crazy messed up stuff is about to go down.

I would be seriously looking up into the sky for signs of the apocalypse.

BTW I was 18 before I first saw real snow here in Lubbock

I am so thankful for the snow and that we got an extra few days. If we hadn't, we wouldn't have been able to play thursday and would have had no tested autonomous program. Yay for snow!!!

K.Shaw 09-03-2003 00:14

that would be cool if it snowed in Houston :D but... lets hope it doesnt snow when we r leaving for Houston

Jon K. 09-03-2003 09:17

I am with ^. Weather sucks when it comes to plane rides. Last year RAGE got stuck on the runway for a few hours down in Orlando because of rain and then the storm skipped ahead and cam up to CT when we got to D.C. so we had to wait there. So i hope it snows in Houston not on the flight to or from Houston.

GLOBAL COOLING! I agree with all of you, it is an unusally cool year. We had snow here on Merritt Island in Florida, the first time in over 20 years! We are going back into an "iceage".

Kaelia 13-03-2003 22:41

Florida? Bah! We're in Ohio! Lotsa snow...

Koko Ed 14-03-2003 09:01

This is a typical winter in Rochester. And the Syracuse and Buffalo teams are used to it as well.
If we don't get over a hundred inches of snow that is an unusual winter for us!

Alex Cormier 14-03-2003 10:46

it did start to snow during the Buckeye Regional too... Ah no worry Rochester is well knoiwn for there harsh and mild winters!

Elgin Clock 16-03-2003 20:07

Yeah!! Today it is 60 degrees in CT.. Instead of being a snowy scene it is now a very very muddy scene.... Which is worse???

Alex Cormier 16-03-2003 20:43

Yeah, I can attest to that one as well. I smashed into a curb the Monday before shipping during a snow storm and it hurt my wallet more than it hurt my car!! :(
