THAT IS AWESOME!!!! how long did it take you?

sevisehda 07-03-2003 21:30

Looks like the fireplace in my cabin. Did you guys do it by hand or with a form underneath?

Everrift 08-03-2003 02:22

i wasn't one of them, how ever i do know that they did make that by hand.

ChrisA 08-03-2003 19:20

Though I kind of look down on you for doing such a think I have to admit that that is pretty cool and I never would have thought of doing such a thing. Congrats.

Firewolf 13-03-2003 16:55

dude, that is intense
how DID you guys do that?
And did it happen to fall at all while you
were under it? ::ouch::
let me use an over used term here and say:
'mad props'

At the St. Louis Science Center, they had blocks that you could build an arch like that and it supported itself, although they had rubbery vinal so they stuck together.

Actually when you think of it those totes are the perfect shape to make an arch out of. Since they are shaped like a key stone.

Jonathan M. 06-04-2003 18:58

At the St. Louis Science center last year me and my friends built made the thing many times. Mainly because they all wanted to take turns running into it like neanderthals. :D Heck I must admit after the last time I even kicked the thing down. It was mad fun that social.

"Shibby!!!"

Dan-o 06-04-2003 20:59

About 4 people from MOE365 made a similar, but slightly larger arch in about 10 minutes. We were going to take pictures of it, but didn't have a camera. Great job. I will try to make it again and post a pic soon.

Nikhil Bajaj 19-05-2003 17:01

rock on, you guys.

GregTheGreat 19-05-2003 17:04

Okay I have to say that that would be a cool stack to do out on the field. (Even though it would be illegal)

Maybe someone can pull that off at an invitational. Might take a few minutes though. lol

BBFIRSTCHICK 19-05-2003 20:55

sweet

Sweet!!! I give you guys mad props! I think if myself and a few teammates tried to do that someone would get fatally injured in the process!! rock on!:D

Dan Richardson 19-05-2003 22:55

:: applauds vigorously :::ahh: :yikes:

Ben B 19-05-2003 23:33

That was us! I actually helped build that, unfortunately im not in the pic but it is fun to build them. We've built that arch quite a few times and actually knocked our biggest one over on some of our teammates useing our robot at our schools open house.:D

I don't see how it would be illegal to do. It would only be considered a stack of 4 or 5 though. I don't any FIRST robot could perform the arch building though, we don't have sophisticated enough materials in the kit.

Josh Hambright 20-05-2003 09:47

If you had REALLY FAST and REALLY AMAZING human players it could be done with the 8 on your alliances side, But that might be considered illegal since they aren't all stacked right side up one ontop of another... so that might be what Ben was refering to.

Right, Josh.....

If they gave the human players 10 minutes instead of 10 seconds (maybe less) it might be possible ;)

Plus yes, since all the bins aren't stacked correctly this would be a penalty

Joe Matt 20-05-2003 13:50

The bins must be totally nesting in the scoring zone to count. The bin bottoms must also be touching completly on the ground.

Geeze, how many times have you heard that before?

Gadget470 20-05-2003 18:11

Sorry, misunderstood, thought he had meant a robot performing the stack.

Pin Man 21-05-2003 18:07

nice!!!

Frank(Aflak) 23-05-2003 20:02

I am a Stl resident, and my school is adjacent to the science center. Heh, we even lend them our lot for big events, and I've done that arch many times. Its wicked fun to knock it down.
