Buckeye Regional Champions!

You guys were great.....there couldent of been a better alliance.....and by the way i love the phrase "Where is the Sharpie?????".......every core member of our team carries one on them at All times!........best of luck and cant wait to see you guys in Houston.

Ellery 09-03-2003 12:35

Congratulations!

Congratualtions on Behalf of Team #191 X-CATS ... Even though we were in the finals with you all and wished we could have been in the spotlight you guys were the ones we were glad to have win it once we were out... Competitions can take drastic turns and being veterans for 12 years we've seen it all.

But I for one am very proud of the SPARX since I personally helped start the team up and am glad they have continued the spirit of TEAM XEROX EXCELLENCE! As far as I'm concerned the X-CATS and SPARX are one big happy family after this Regional!

Once again good luck to you all and now I have to make arrangements for the SPARX to go to Houston!!! Awesome!

It's too bad that one of our drive train's broke, and not to mention a wheel right before the final match. I still think that if our robot was working properly we could have won, but 2nd place is fine with me.

Our crew was working frantically on the side of the playing field trying to get the 'bot fixed, we just didn't have enough time....

I remember seeing a few X-cats members at the wendy's outside of cleveland... lol

Your team was really loud, with the clappers and what not.

Outside? LOL!!!
You should have seen it on the inside on Thursday when both the X-Cats and Sparx swarmed the place! The look on those poor people's face...
But I give them credit. They served all of us without delay and effortlessly. They were a top line crew!

I'd like say congratulations to 902 and 494 for having great robots and I wish we could have gone further.

In the second semifinal match 494 succesfully defended a stack of 4 and in the replay 494 got flipped early on and 902 still managed to win the match in a two on one situation.

Congrats to 27, 541, and 1126

That was unfortunate.
I'm not totally clear why they made you guys do another match. Could anyone explain?

There's one or two threads somewhere that explain it

From what I gathered, team 85 did not want to initiate autonomous mode by not standing on their pad at the end of the human player time. However, I think someone from FIRST must have stepped on the pad or initiated autonomous mode some other way. They wanted to be off during autonomous mode so that they could knock down the stack of 4.

Thank you to team 541 and 1126, they were really great allies and for a rookie team, 1126 was fantastic all-around.

What we were told is that one of the teams didn't want to step on the sensor so that their robot would not initiate autonomous, but a field work accidentally stepped on their sensor and tripped it so the robot went into autonomous even though they didn't want it to.

Has anything like this ever happened in a FIRST competition before?
