Congradulations from Team902, the Robohawks

Team 902-The Robohawks congradulates you on your victory.

I'm sure I can speak for teams 494-The Martians, and 226-The Tech Crew when I say that we would have loved to meet you in the final round.

Congrats to the winners of the Buckeye, I agree we wish things would have been a little different.

Buckeye Regional Champions!

You guys were great.....there couldent of been a better alliance.....and by the way i love the phrase "Where is the Sharpie?????".......every core member of our team carries one on them at All times!........best of luck and cant wait to see you guys in Houston.

Ellery 09-03-2003 12:35

Congratulations!

Congratualtions on Behalf of Team #191 X-CATS ... Even though we were in the finals with you all and wished we could have been in the spotlight you guys were the ones we were glad to have win it once we were out... Competitions can take drastic turns and being veterans for 12 years we've seen it all.

But I for one am very proud of the SPARX since I personally helped start the team up and am glad they have continued the spirit of TEAM XEROX EXCELLENCE! As far as I'm concerned the X-CATS and SPARX are one big happy family after this Regional!

Once again good luck to you all and now I have to make arrangements for the SPARX to go to Houston!!! Awesome!

It's too bad that one of our drive train's broke, and not to mention a wheel right before the final match. I still think that if our robot was working properly we could have won, but 2nd place is fine with me.

Our crew was working frantically on the side of the playing field trying to get the 'bot fixed, we just didn't have enough time....

steve_h 09-03-2003 13:12

I remember seeing a few X-cats members at the wendy's outside of cleveland... lol

Your team was really loud, with the clappers and what not.

Outside? LOL!!!
You should have seen it on the inside on Thursday when both the X-Cats and Sparx swarmed the place! The look on those poor people's face...
But I give them credit. They served all of us without delay and effortlessly. They were a top line crew!

eko7385 09-03-2003 13:42

I'd like say congratulations to 902 and 494 for having great robots and I wish we could have gone further.

In the second semifinal match 494 succesfully defended a stack of 4 and in the replay 494 got flipped early on and 902 still managed to win the match in a two on one situation.

Congrats to 27, 541, and 1126

That was unfortunate.
I'm not totally clear why they made you guys do another match. Could anyone explain?

There's one or two threads somewhere that explain it

From what I gathered, team 85 did not want to initiate autonomous mode by not standing on their pad at the end of the human player time. However, I think someone from FIRST must have stepped on the pad or initiated autonomous mode some other way. They wanted to be off during autonomous mode so that they could knock down the stack of 4.

Thank you to team 541 and 1126, they were really great allies and for a rookie team, 1126 was fantastic all-around.

What we were told is that one of the teams didn't want to step on the sensor so that their robot would not initiate autonomous, but a field work accidentally stepped on their sensor and tripped it so the robot went into autonomous even though they didn't want it to.

Has anything like this ever happened in a FIRST competition before?

SPARX THANK YOU

As part of he SparX team I would thank our allies from Saturday team 27 and 541 for there help, trust and new friendships. We cant wait to see you in Houston. The SparX would also like to send a special "thank you" to the X-Cats for there help, major spirit and leadership. Being a rookie team the SparX didn't know what to expect or really how to go about things. The X-cats not only showed us how to go about things but was right there next to us cheering and boosting each-others spirits. Sometimes I forget that we've only known the X-cats for around 6 weeks. It feels like we've been the winning partnership that we are for years. X-cats we can't wait to see you again, when we do you can count on the SparX to cheer you on. Thanks for your support you made our rookie year a great one.

Alex Cormier 10-03-2003 14:55

Fisk University . My stepdad's alma matta.

doomsdaytank 10-03-2003 15:24

congrats

congratulations from 902 i think i speak for the whole team when i say you guys earned your trip a great alliance and good strategy is the key and you guys had both excellent job

szbhj0 11-03-2003 13:15

Congrats!!!!

The entire Team 378 (Delphi Circuit Stompers) thinks you were the best alliance in the event (Cleveland). The Delphi Circuit Stompers are very proud to have been able to play against you in the championship round.

Congrats again to all your teams in your alliance! What a power!

Note: In the championship round, we have two broken drill motor gearboxes which caused our autonomous mode to fail and we couldn't even get up the ramp at the end of the match. This caused us to bow out in the second match. We lost the drill motors part way through the semifinal. We also lost a chain, aligning brackets, and a couple of pillow blocks. We got bashed around pretty good. What a wild contest!

Even if our robot was perfect, I do not feel our robot, the flying monkey, and our alliance 835, 378, & 85 could have defeated your awesome alliance. We wish you great success in the future!

Tom

:)

P.S. We are very happy to have placed 2nd.... the best we have ever done.

Alex Cormier 11-03-2003 15:14

good job too..

yes it was a wild contest this year. that is why i had designed and built those bumpers to put on the "Bulldog" 1126. which i had built by my self.

I think there is a way to print up the Bulldog design on a special paper to make your own stickers.
I'll look into it.

Jonathanb 11-03-2003 15:20

Congratulations Winners of the Buckeye Regional, and a double Congratulations to the ROOKIES 1126!!!

rachakate 11-03-2003 17:00

With the Rochester group of FIRST teams growing, I am more and more proud to be apart of it!

Congrats to X-Cats on their team spirit award and sharing their spirit with the rest of the city. Way to be Visioneers on being the #1 picked team and by far the best stacker out there. It was great to have MAK and Blue Lightening's support out there too! And a hearty congrats to SparX! I guess the Xerox quality in FIRST level is contagious!

i think that would be great. i have already sent John a email with the bulldog picture on it. but i think it would look better with a little color in it. and possibly two. so we can put one on each side our the channel. in the middle of the robot.
