If they had some 80's rock/metal going they should have some Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, and Dokken playing at the competitions.
Hopefully they will be playing some of these at UCF:) 9 more days... |
You guys got pantera in sacramento...thats awsome!
What song? Overall i think that first leans to the happy go lucky music that people in the stands will like, top 40 radio stuff and golden oldies as well as adult contempory, remeber that many of our adult mentors wouldn't like alot of the music many of us would request.... I was missing some techno favorites, like Daft Punk - Harder Better Faster Stronger. But i survived... They started repeating alot in cleveland however which wasn't cool and they went through the same loop atleast 4 times on thursday *gag* |
The music at the Cleveland regional was... quite different from what I had been expecting. Namely, very very little techno... what do they think we are, popular people?:D
I'm a loser! I want loser music!!! |
The only innapropriate song (there's always one..) I heard (via webcast) was "The Humpty Dance." Other than that it was a tasteful selection although not my style.

I wanted the song Drop the Bomb, because I'm a DDR freak....but noooo, no DTB and no ddr for me, even though I brought my PS and pad.

My one problem, they only played about 5 seconds of "Cotton Eye Joe." I was surprised they let Nelly be played...it was a bit sexual for a FIRST competition. |
Yeah The music at the Cleveland regional I thought was good. I actually new the words to some of the songs. But, as some else already said, when your running around trying to figure out what to do in your next match and why that part on your bot isn't working quite right you don't really notice the music till one of the cherished moments when you have absolutely nothing to do. They don't come often enough. ^.~!

i didnt like the music alot at buckeye
i agree with loser girl....hahaha..soo funny.. its not that i didnt like the music at buckeye, i just wanted more techno...where was darude?!?!?!?! ROBOTICS WITHOUT TECHNO???? NEVER!!!:ahh:

Pantera? Judas Priest? Metallica? This gives me some hope for the Phoenix regional. Last year I went to LA, and the only song I remember liking that they played was "Liberty" by Steve Vai. I was so excited I sang along with the guitar line :). But yeah, I could definitely go for more metal, and more Vai (come on "Bad Horsie"!). We could use some Megadeth and Alice Cooper also, because they both live here in Az.

One more week until UCF - I'm looking forward to moshing with George from 1083. It's almost as funny as watching me break dance.

music
I recall from last year the music from the NYC Regional was unsatifactory. Some people say and I agree the music at the competition and party was distasteful. Hopefully it will be better this year.

you could have gone and used the DDR pad one of the teams converted to a robot controler :p |
In my ideal world, every Robotics regional would play Anime and Video Game music (and yes, that includes DDR)...
However, the world is not, as we know, ideal. So I had to settle for the nasty pop music they played *sigh* I completely agree with you, Alex...us losers should have loser music! |
