Ucf so soon...but yet sooo far away
 

bla i cant wait to ucf its next weekend and it seems so far away i have been dreaming robots since jan 4 and i am having seperation anxiety from the robot its been a long time since i have seen it (and you know you are a dork when you have that problem) so to all going to ucf how you guys looking you ready? no offense to anyone but i think ucf is one of the strongest regionals out there with the better teams what have you guys been doing since the robot shipped i mean we used to be one of the first regionals now we are in the middle so it seems alot different to watch ohtere ones before us

Only 9 days until, though!! We've just been cleaning up the mess we made, finishing up programming, taking tests on our robot, and scouting. I can't say how ready we are to compete, but I'm definitely ready just to go and have fun! Good luck!

I'm anxious, nervous, excited, wired, and did I mention excited?! Man I can not wait! This is going to be so much fun! I think we'll do okay in competition we're pretty good. But we just want to go, give it our all, and above all else HAVE FUN! FIRST isn't about beating every one else in competition, it's about having a good time, and learning. While Preparing for the real world!

We have demonstrated an old robot to an elementary school, an engineering expo, and a technology convention. We have been working on our strategy program which is still being developed though we are getting closer every day. That's pretty much all we have been doing...

April... if i can go, do you realize just how much fun we are going to have?!?!?! I so can not wait!!!

Ahh! You're too lucky. We have to take a bus ride. I wish we could afford to go some where on plane. *_* Anywho, the bus ride isnt that bad, we usually just have fun on the bus- or sleep- or both- usually both.

Its gonna be a good comp and I bet well thought out strats because everyone has watched all the other regionals i'm sure

You shouldnt wish you were lucky enough to fly. If you are over 6ft tall, fitting in an airline seat for hours on end would be enough to drive you crazy, but other than that its fun:D

Yes!!! Only a few more days! NO SCHOOL ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY!!!!! The Central Florida regional has always been amazing, with awesome teams like 267, 180, and 312 (if i didn't say your team number, sorry, its late :D ).

I was going to say something else, but That 70's Show came on, so my train of thought derailed (that was witty!).

Everyone have a safe trip here, and a safe time here, and a safe, however depressing, trip from here.

Yup!! Approx 12.5 hours until we go off to the airport. You know, flying there isn't all it is cracked up to be. Especially with this ultra heightened level of security because of the War with Iraq.

no if i can remeber correctly i was alwasy on the right maybe once or twice ont he left but i was the one to chirp in once in awhile like the peanut gallery

I was at the campus today looking around and everything. Areas of the campus is under construction and the did not yet have up any signage of where the event is.

Additionally, I noticed numerous parking and traffic signage that implied if we park in select areas we will be ticketed. Additionally they implied large city tickets not a University ticket.

I think we need to make sure that we know all the rules cause this is clearly different than last years Space Center location in Florida.

11 hours, 44 minutes and counting. It's going to be so awesome.

Approx 12 hours from now we will be in our pits looking at our robot in the box and going, "What happened?! Why is it all in pieces?! SOMEBODY SABOTAGED IT!! NOOOOOOOOO!!" or maybe not...

well we are here in ucf staying in the hilton and they have a free high speed interent access and we have hubbeed all ov the computers together so any teams staying at the hitlon bring cat 5 so you can hook up and a switch if you have more then one laptop well i am out see you all at competiton

Gotta hand it to you all at heatwave, that was one heck of a robot! Im amazed that by the end the announcers were saying things like "Uh oh, I think heatwave missed a few" when talking about your near-complete destruction of the wall :)
