AH, you have forgotten the BRAZIL R/S!
www.splutterfish.com

For the next year, my job is to harrass them into giving us copies :D . Its an amazing renderer that has been picked up by MGM Studios (I think thats who picked them up...) already. It's even being used in the upcoming movie The Core. Its got functionality out the wazoo. Its amazing!

But yeah, deep paint...soo nice. I have to get it again.

Combustion: I've put abosolutly no time into learning that yet. How is it? Any good?

AAAAAH... I saw that one... when's the public version gonna be available again? WHEN??? or... *gasp*... do you think they might donate the full thing to FIRSTies? hee hee...
Prob'ly not, but even to get the public test available for us would be GREAT....

Yeah! I've contacted them a few times and I keep getting responses in the form of "Well..we don't have the capacity to support a group of students just yet..." My response is always "But I don't need support! I've used the beta and its awesome and easy to use!" Maybe if we get a group of people together to start harassing them in unison :p

And unfortuenlty the public testing is over...They released brazil v.1.00 a little while ago. From what i've seen of it...wow. Thats about all i have to say. Its a lil slower than the default scaline on standard renders, but it FLIES through raytracing like nothing! And the quality is great! shadows, proper reflections, and advanced camera techniques are amazing. There's supposedly even a fish eye lens effect in it.

Hehe...

I am looking forward to using hammers, zipties, and drill presses.

Edit:
I know it is about the animation. That is why the "Hehe" is there. But I did expect it to be about tools. I was saying the same thing

V you did, in a humorous way.

Blender [I forgot the link to it] is free, open source, and really good.

It might take a lil' bit of time to get the hang of it, but it's like that for other programs also.
