Team 888 light

Hey look i think i see some pieces from our red light.(anyone who saw it explode got a treat. we have it all on tape too :P) Luckily we rebuilt the light so it was still usable. yay.

Joe3 16-03-2003 21:07

I think those chain connector links are ours...at least we got the chain our from under there.

Morriah836 16-03-2003 21:09

Team Robobee Claims...

The piece of orange foam in the upper right corner.
It's a piece of a 'Fun Noodle' aka - our bumper!

Keith Chester 16-03-2003 21:32

A lot of those screws are ours from our drill transmissions! The 280 point round we had both drills simply took so much torque they... well, we found them all over the floor. Most of them.

ggoldman 16-03-2003 21:38

Just FYI...

when we took the ramps apart after the regional..there were even more parts..hehe..

Gabe

Jeff Waegelin 16-03-2003 21:41

Oh, man. That's a lot of pieces...

kevin.li.rit 16-03-2003 21:52

I wonder if we could get some of the stuff back

Ryan Albright 16-03-2003 21:54

wow looks like there was alot of fun around the ramp

Madison 16-03-2003 22:16

That C-shaped piece of PVC to the immediate left of the rightmost 686 tag is from our robot.

We haven't figured out where it came from, though.

Gadget470 16-03-2003 22:20

how did some of that stuff get under there? To my knowledge there is no open-space more than about a square inch (holes in the mesh).

Carlo 16-03-2003 22:32

hey, that looks like a 5/16-18 nut on the right, HEY THATS MINE!!! lol looks like you get lots of stuff if you clean up.

once again, awesome event, hope to see 2 fields next year, now that would be amazing.

Rook 16-03-2003 22:41

That's a funny picture.

Well at least one team, 686, can be traced back to that mess.

Erinn888 16-03-2003 22:46

Zips ties, decoration and cows

wow you'd think zip ties were popular ;)...is that some "decorative" duck tape i see? hehe :P

Yay linganore and their cow tags. So many were given out who really knows what team manage to stash a few under the ramp.

I told you you were missing a spacer from your right rear axel.

I've got the screw with two diffrent shear points.

Mike Schroeder 16-03-2003 22:54

any drill motor tranie parts are ours

Aaron Lussier 16-03-2003 23:17

Wow... Just wow, at BAE to my Knowledge all that was under the bridge was zip ties, a few nuts and some square pieces of rubber that came off wheels, namely the black one that came in the kit that had the thin tread down the middle, I recall watching one team trying to drive up the bridge while pushing another bot but all I saw was there wheels being cut apart.

rmcclelland 16-03-2003 23:18

That large PVC nut belongs to team 53. We had our deployable casters down when we were pushed into the ramp. We replaced then the next day. At leat the PVC broke and not our pnuematics!

etoleb 16-03-2003 23:40

I bet you could build robot with just those parts... (ok, so maybe you'll need a few electronic components)

Greg

sanddrag 17-03-2003 00:23

Anyone who wants their robot back from the Phoenix regional just let us know. We'll send it in a jar right away. We caused all your pieces to end up down their so we thought to be nice we'd collect them for you.

Daniel Brim 17-03-2003 00:30

To my knowledge, the most major carnage at Phoenix was that robot that almost caught on fire. A couple of light casings chattered too.

Oh, 696, we took home one of the boxes you destroyed as a souvineer.

Can we PLEASE have that? We'll trade you, we'll pay you, anything to have back that tote

A. Snodgrass 17-03-2003 12:24

Gabe: Im not surprised that you found some under the ramp...people were shedding like mad. and everybody else...that doesnt include the pieces that teams picked up!

ReggieB 17-03-2003 20:38

I don't think we were in a match that we didn't lose at least one nut...and i see many of them there. I think that some of that chian stuff on the left is ours too, and possibly the velcro strips. We didn't get a chance to tighten all our bolts before (or between) competition. Our brake was trailing behind our bot after one match--that was right before we decided that it was useless. But we have refined and rebuilt parts (taking all of sunday after our 10:15 final match), so we should be good for nationals! See you there!

w1zk1d 17-03-2003 20:40

pvc is team 53's

that pvc came from our dropdown casters on the underside of our robot.

Kyle 17-03-2003 21:52

hey can we get our chain links back?

how did those tags get on the feild, i didnt see any of them on their bot.

jzampier 17-03-2003 22:43

Can anyone say Locktite?

Serg 17-03-2003 23:21

Yes that is our PVC nut, But ryan, isnt that strip of velcro on the top left what held down our resovoirs??? that might explain why malcolms assembly started falling apart..

Unfortunately, I didn't take that tote, one of our team members asked the officials for it and they gave it to them.

Just kill one tote at LA :-)

Don't you worry. You'll be certain there will be enough to go around. He he he.;)

DaveO'B365 21-03-2003 12:12

hehe

as a field resetter, you see these things... but all those little black pieces are from team 25's wheels, they had really soft wheels, and bordered on excessive debris, good bot by the way... i was afraid of it at least :-p

Kris Verdeyen 21-03-2003 12:17

It's a chicken and egg thing

The light bulb goes on - *ding*. Perhaps there were none on their bot because they were all on the field?

Isn't locktite illegal? No adhesives, I thought...

(Along the same lines, chewing gum isn't an adhesive is it? Because we were talking about holding together a bot completely with old chicklets after we found our post-lunch vending machine gum hard to chew.)

I'm pretty sure the rule is no excessive lubricants and no adhesives to act as a traction device. And, loctite is not an adhesive; it cures under pressure, not heat or time.

Vincent Chan 30-03-2003 13:48

Didn't know that about loctite...

and you just proved my team captain wrong and myself right. Thanks much.

And as usual, I begin to digress...

DaveO'B365 30-03-2003 23:21

yeah...

loctite is legal, as long as you use it properly... to keep bolts/nuts in place. also, adhesives such as contact cement were legal last year, and we used a really strong epoxy too...
