That one is GeroniMOE Revealed. The MPEG form of that is HUGE!! That's why it is encoded in DivX. If you need the DivX codec, go to www.DivX.com/DivX. You'll want to download the freeware on the left side, without the ads. When installing, if you are on a PC, you don't need to install the official player 'cause Win Media player will use the DivX codec. If you're on a MAC.... I'm not exactly sure, but you might want to install the player if you can't get it to work. If you still want the MPEG form of GeroniMOE Revealed - send me a PM and we'll talk about it.

Solace 18-03-2003 11:34

hmm...I can't seem to get it to work - the divx player says that its unable to open it.

The DiVX 5 codec works with Quicktime 5 and 6 on the Mac, so you don't need the free player once you've installed the codec. Quicktime will play it directly. (I have no systems running previous versions of QT to test, so it may or may not work on QT4 or earlier.)

for all divX woes:

Go to google, seach for "Nimo Codec Pack"

your computer can now play every single avi or divX that you can double click.

Does that work on Mac OSX as well?

Links work now...

I'm not exactly sure why they weren't working before, but all of the links work now. Keep in mind you'll need the DivX codec for all of the movies except Sneak Peek 1.

Miracle Workerz
Sneak Peek 1 (MPEG - 7MB)
Sneak Peek 2 (DivX - 22MB)
GeroniMOE Revealed! (DivX - 49MB)

Lemmy know what you think!

ssjcell 19-03-2003 21:47

would you selfish people stop talking about your movies for once and just answer my question about mo with the fro

I saved the GeroniMOE Revealed viedo to my computer, but a window pops up whenever I try and view it that says something to the effect of 'I couldn't find some compressor thing'. The music works, though. I also tried to view the sneak peek 2 (I just opened it, didn't save to my computer) but a window came up and told me that the parameters are incorrect. Whatever. I also clicked on the 'DivX Codec' link on your website, but whenever I tried downloading it, some file supposedly didn't work.
I'm sure it's just because of my computer illiteracy, though.

But when I click on 'open' for GeroniMOE Revealed instead of saving it, everything works just fine. The video is awesome. Where did you get the green bins? The bin righter is brilliant, and the music is pretty cool!

Hope to see you guys at nats!

As we have said before, the bins are green because they are in close proximity to our robot and shirts which emanate green.;) Actually the bins are a special Christmas "Evergreen" color that was left in the stores right after kickoff. The bin righter is a feature we are particularly proud of b/c it rights a bin in any orientation with a simple repetitive motion and doesnt disturb already righted bins (as long as it is calibrated correctly). We are going to nats so we will see you in Reliant Park.

Argh, this stupid video wont work wont work....o wait, im the stupid one, i need the codec...

This thing is amazing, to be honest I found it hard to focous on your robot, the movie is so perfectly put to the music, it has such an artistic tone that all I could do was appricate the quality of the movie. Where did you get that music? who made themovie?

HUMMERIC 21-03-2003 00:23

SuperJake (the starter of this thread) was the person who made all of our videos and we all think he does a great job. He has so much awesome music and videos and its just amazing what he is able to do with it all.

The music for GeroniMOE Revealed comes from the second trailer for Lord of the Rings: Two Towers. I would have loved to find this song in the actual movie, but it was only in the trailer. The song is called Requiem of a Dream by Clint Mansell off of the original sound track for the movie Requiem of a Dream (2000). I haven't seen the movie, but if it has a sound track like this - it might be worth checking out.

Thank you for your compliments! These are my first real attempts at making videos from scratch... actually, Sneak Peek 1 is my very first video that I put together from footage I shot around the build phase. Maybe I should switch from an Engineering Major to a Digital Media Major... or not. Engineering is soooo much better!

Due to a 'critical mass' of sorts, I won't be posting any more information on the release of new videos on the Miracle Workerz home page. I can tell you that you'd better believe I'm working on more. So check back to the MOE website like once a week or so to see if there is another video up. Ideally, I'd like to have one from every competition with highlights. I have gathered over 40GB of raw footage from several different cameras from around the arena.. so it's gonna look nice.
