According to what I've heard from other volunteers at annapolis

Their Speed controller first got its leads connected by a mischievous screw. In addition, I believe there was a problem with some fuse panel circuitry.

But this is no where near official info

Here is what happened- a screw hit the speed controller. Unfortunately for them, their main powerline was right on top of that speed controller. Basically, poof. A short that went through the whole system.

I have to say though, I was amazed to see them running again by the end of the day!

Yup...that story of what happened is correct. when they got it off the field, there was basicly just a nicle gooey, clump of black plactic stuck to their polycarbinate electrical board. MOE sent a so called "swat pit crew team" over to help them get up and running again. We also helped them put on some things that weren't there, and made me wonder about the inspections process...they had no 40 amp fuses...

Don't wonder about the inspection process- for us, it was a rigorous no mercy inspection.

It was quite exciting to watch though ;)

lol...they gave us a hard time about a rough edge with a slight burr on the inside of the robot.
