Yan Wang 21-03-2003 15:29

There was a high of 280 at Annapolis and I believe the nation's highest is something like 346.

ggoldman 21-03-2003 15:31

No..you misunderstood..

thats a high Unadjusted score.

Good job Pink...nice job gaurding..

I like how your arms reacted to their arm's movement.

Stephen Kowski 21-03-2003 15:31

Yan Wang 21-03-2003 15:36

In that case, great job.

There were scores in the 300+ range in Phoenix... no comment on how they got such a high score...

Rob Colatutto 21-03-2003 20:22

soap doesn't have past match 47 for florida yet

Ash 21-03-2003 21:01

Hey!

Hey everyone. I just got back from UCF today (Friday), and what do I see, but a post about our alliance's high score.

Thanks for the complements on our arm... that was walesjd who did saved the stack (I'm just the base driver). All I did was get in front of them so they couldn't move too much.

I hope we can keep that high score until Seattle.

Have a great time at your regionals, and for all the teams at UCF, look for us in the finals!

-Ash

Hailfire 22-03-2003 20:22

At GLR today, Chief Delphi and their alliance partner got 304 qualifying points. Third highest in the nation now.

marlon_jbt 22-03-2003 20:49

"Their alliance partner"?

Are we that inferior for people NOT to know our team number? It's 519 for God's sakes!

Sorry, but it is the 2nd highest QP score in the nation...

The Lucas 22-03-2003 20:51

Appropriate Numbers

Although it may not be the highest unadjusted score in the nation any more, 233 scored 233 unadjusted points. That is pretty cool. I hope my team can score our team number (365). All we need are 35 bins in the scoring zone (all of the top ones and 6 of the other Human Player bins), a stack of 9 (thats within our stacker's capacity) and both robots at the top of the hill (9 * 35 + 50 = 365). Hmmmm...... I think both our opponets will have to be disabled or malfunctioning for this match to happen.:D

jasti@myself 22-03-2003 20:57

WE ARE TEAM #519

WE HAPPEN TO HAVE THE 2ND HIGHEST SCORE IN THE NATION RIGHT NOW

2001: Incredible Play Award (National Championship in Florida)

2002: Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers Entrepreneurship (Buckeye Regional in Cleveland, OH)

2002: Motorola Midwest Regional Champions (Motorola Midwest Regional in Evanston, Ill.)

2002: Quarterfinalists in Curie Division at National Championship in Florida.

Dan Richardson 22-03-2003 23:18

uhh.. the highest scores are now all belonging to UCF regional.. like a 356 and a 363 or something... thats what you get with 8 stacks and all robots

jeesh

Dan

So I forgot. I meant to go to the FIRST site but it was too late for me and I was tired.

Libel 23-03-2003 12:34

how?

could i ask your strategy on getting this many points?

is your robot fast enough to get boxes and then to your stack?

how did you guys get these high scores?

Kit Gerhart 23-03-2003 14:05

We were on the losing end of a match which, for a short time, yielded the highest Q-point total in the country. Our partner did not have a robot, and on the autonomous run, our robot and one of our opponents got to the top of the ramp directly across from each other at about the same time. Our robot tried to climb up the box between the two robots and turned upside down. The other alliance pushed our inverted machine to the top platform, scored both of their robots, and had a fairly good score from boxes.

High Score

The match with 47 and 519 was a great partnership. The game plan was good and most important the opposing two teams were super at the same task. these teams were 240 and 453.

The result of who won or lost took several min. No one knew for sure. The comment from our drive team as soon as the match ended was concern over not taking out their stack. That was an error on their part.

It all worked out well.

"Sometimes your failure leads to your success".

A famous quote by someone I am sure.

k thanks, musta been pretty fun...

Jeremiah Johnson 24-03-2003 17:38

The highest score in St. Louis was 327. Was the highest in the nation at one point. I believe that the highest score will be set at the Midwest Regional because of all the veteran teams. Hopefully my team will be part of that record!

Yeah, I'm still dazed from that score, team 233 scoreing 233 points. That was a great match, I hope you all got to watch some of the feed from UCF, it was an awesome regional. Thanks Ash for giving me the credit for that save :) It really was amazing to see an 8 stack stand under attack.

Think Pink,

Some interesting? points about the match:

* HP's stacked 8 in 7 seconds..and got to the mats in 10s.
* The stack wasn't perfectly nested and teetered a few times during the match
* 408-roboticks had a great chance to knock it down and missed (actually they did nip it) ... then 233 defended very well.
* 233's autonomous carried it to the other side of the field - a key element.

KA-108

Ash 26-03-2003 23:42

About that....

The Roboticks put up a good fight... but I don't think they could see their robot...what with the robots and the boxes...we were having the same problem...lousy lowriding robot :D ...anyway, hope to see some of you guys at Seattle and Nationals...

GO PINK!
