We still call them Chalupas... :)

I, for one, think the chalupa thing was great. I've called them that since last year when someone (was it you, DJ?) started calling them that here.

Aluminum -----> Alunumin

Pronounciation......

Do you have any idea how many times I was asked to say "About" at the GLR???

Canadians do NOT say "Aboot" (you guys do).

As well, "Hockey" is not pronounced "Hackey" ;)

Next weekend is the Canadian Regional.......so it'll be our turn to make the Americans say funny words ;)

kristen 23-03-2003 21:21

EH!!!!!!!!! I'm looking forward to hearing classic Canadian pronunciations of words next week ;)

Harrison 23-03-2003 21:24

I can't defend that we say "eh", cause we do (and some more than others).

But, I also noticed that Americans have something of their own as well - you guys use "huh", where we use "eh".

And Kristen....I'll find some "fun" Canadian words just for you..... :)

randomperson 23-03-2003 21:47

Funny pronounciations? Hrm.. I cant think of anything really.. oh wait :)

Hehe.. when our team captain accepted the alliance she really stumbled over the words.. lol

"Team 658 gratefully expects.. um, accepts.. this.. alliance"

hehe..

I'd laugh...but...uhh...Northeast Pennsylvania has our _own_ language. If you mush every word you say together then say it really slowly after turning 'ing' into 'in,' 'creek' into 'crick,' and making every sentence a fragment...then you will be accepted here. Ohh...and Pennsylvania is the only state that says their abbreviation when you ask us where we're from:) (So where are you from? I'm from Pee-Yay.)

Ehh? :D Now I feel the need to watch Canadian Bacon.

Mimi Brown 23-03-2003 21:54

hmmm its a lot of fun listening to all the michigan boys talk...they make fun of us, so we make fun of them...

Not to mention that some Canadians don't say it at all. Like me for example. ;) Ok, so maybe I'll say it once in a while, but not very often.
