Best Looking Bot
Who do you think had the best looking bot at the central florida regionals, actually, any regional? I think Heatwave looked so nice and slick. I loved the front :D
|
except for the blue tape on our arm, i think our drive train portion looked really cool
|
Big Red Robotics!
We had our car painted Ferrari Black, so try to top that! check us out! Would anyone happen to have pics of our new bot? Our site only has old ones, and the old one looks like it was half wood and was built in the last week of building season(which we most certainly did...) Edit: We also riced it up with Rigosport, Mercedes, Bentley and Ferrari logos! Hehehe |
Team 68 Truck Town Thunder
|
thanks patrick!
steve did the skins on the front and side |
Team 148
Of course, they haven't been to a regional yet, so I don't know if that qualifies. It just means I've been doing my research. |
Team 356. But I guess I'm kinda partial.
|
Over all design? I'd have to go with Pink, cimply cause it matched. The the speed holes were elegantly done, I think they had them ont heir cart handel too, haha. I like Heat Waves panels, and OakRidge's more, Green being my fav color and all, but I have to give the Guy on Swamp Thing (whose name I never did learn) mad props for having to paint 2 covers, the first paint he used didn't work to well when they practiced, so they made all new ones...o.O
|
207 Metalcrafters have a pretty cool cover for their robot, looks really good.
68 T3 looks really good, except with the decals flaping. 192 GRT looked really good with the red and the black. And I like our flames (good job Bree and Jay) :-) |
I think our robot looked pretty sweet....
![]() (this is an old picture, now it looks better, decals and all) |
I'm a fan of 179's evil grin.
|
ucf
-I liked 212's evil looking wheel covers -267's robot makes me kinda sentimental because it reminds me of our bot last year (sniff) -180 reminds me of a bulldozer gone bad -147 has the biggest tires I have ever seen on a robot (not too mention that ghetto fabulous arm) -179 is just plain nuts other regionals -I'd say it's a tie between 73 and 980 (with their mad box righting ability) |
Btw 212, you had a pretty good looking girl there too.

hehe thanks |
i like cybersonics bot, pretty efficient
they were also a very helpful team in the pits |
I was at the ucf regional and i liked team 665's bot. The flames painted on their side panels were awesome. They also had a strong drive train. I remember the match against heat wave when they pushed heatwav'es bot off the ramp and across to the other side. i was surprised seeing them push them like that
|
At Arizona hands down it had to be team 60. As always thier robot was well painted well machined and that huge sail was awesome!
The Gila Monsters (64) have an incredible bot this year, thier engineer designed it all from inventor and had it all machined. Its pretty, like a lady. |
Dude! It's all about the upholstry!! 814! 814!!!!!
|
hmm i would have to say my team's bot was pretty sweet b4 competitions started...if n e one saw our pit at pittsburgh...there was a huge pile of all the broken polycarb panels that we had on the bot.

I agree with you koci. Team 148 does have a neat robot, and red too. Have you seen its video?
http://www.koyote.com/users/vpope/lo...20Star%20A.mov It does a pretty effecient autonomous mode. I can't wait to play with them in Houston. 624 robot is pretty neat too. Are you Mark's friend? 6 days to LSR. I'll see you there and the robowrangler's red robot. |
best looking bot... the bosch team (342?) is always very clean and sleek. personally though, when you compare our's (179) to all others (standard square bots) - hands down - awesome!
thanks for the kudos on the paint job - i'll pass them on to my brother. |

Yes, Derik (sp?) Did such a good job, it was fantastic. Not to mention he ended up doing 2 didn't he? |
Consider 408....nominated.

When we ran into a goal last year at full speed, we broke a nice chunk off the edge of the bot. I think we gave the chunk to one of our mentors who couldn't believe her eyes. I suppose it matters at what angle you hit it and if it's an edge piece, etc. |

179 crazy (but very good) paint job! Can't knock the green paint....hmmmm should check our robots for it if we climbed up on top of them. It was dry, right???? |

well def. liked 312 it always looks awesome. spam robot had that evil bulldozer apeal to it. If they had it working a 100% i would of been scared of it. I def like are skins on are robot (710) did anyone else see them and like them?
|
Yea we had a sweet graphic paying tribute to the Columbia space shuttle and its passengers.

I loved heatwave's look when extended out. It was scary watching it fold out too. 179's paint job was awesome. I liked 180's big scary look. Think Pink made their entire bot pink, it was funny how many parts of it were pink, I thought it was awesome.

Who has pictures of the 312 2003 robot? I can't seem to find any good ones of it, pretty much anywhere. *shrug* One of those things I wanted to take another look at, but couldn't. Thanks, John |

The ones you posted in the edit are exactly what I'm looking for. Hell of a robot. I remember watching it in the elims (against BUZZ and Daisy) and being really impressed. Thanks again, John |

The other team that has really good looking robot is team 115 Monta Vista High School. They rarely painted their robot, but their machining was ALWAYS the best looking jobs I have seen out there, especially their gearbox. As someone mentioned, the 192 Gunn Robotics Team 03 robot had a great chassis with teh black and the red. Also, one of the first swerve drive out in the west, the robot of team 258 Lincoln high school did an amazing job this year doing their gearbox and the whole drive train in general. Their motion was the smoothest I've ever seen at the competitions I've watched. |

You're relatively new here, so please take this under consideration. Of course you're kinda partial. We all love our own robots. The point of this thread, and threads like it is to spotlight OTHER robots. If everyone came on here and posted about their own robot, it wouldn't be any fun. So please... in the future... NEVER mention your own robot in a "best of" or "most impressive" or "most likely to win" thead. It's just not cool. Instead, why don't you tell us about some cool robots you saw this past season? I know 126 went to NH, UTC and Nats... What cool robots did you see there? I would hope that everyone, please, please, please keeps this in mind. John |
Re: Best Looking Bot
The Robot I liked best last year was Dana's I think (I want to say 279 (TechFusion) correct me if im wrong) It was Silver and Blue and it looked like a Peacock when it was all unfolded, that just really caught my eye especially when it mounted the ramp.
|
Re: Best Looking Bot
I gotta say i loved the swamp thing before they put the big grin or whatever on it. 71's was also pretty swanky to watch.
|
Re: Best Looking Bot
I Like Krunch's bot not exectaly for the way it looked but its sound Ive keeyed the term as the Crab Drive "HISS" As it moved up the ramp
And thanks for the praise on SwampThing The acrylic paint tended to chip off when it was hit Even tho it was painted on the inside The Teeth Were Littalry Knocked Out |
