BASIC Stamp Error

I am trying to download a program into the robot controller but I keep getting the following error:
"No BASIC Stamps Found."
I have checked all the cables and followed the instructions but I always get this error. Any help would be appreciated.

Check the following things:

-Robot is turned on
-Programming cable connected securely to both computer + robot
-no programs running on the comp that use the COM port such as palm hotsync.
-The correct COM port is selected in the basic stamp programming utility on the computer

Thats all i can think of for now... try these, if it still doesnt work after i'm sure someone else can point you in the right direction.

windows?

If you're using windows, make sure you have the STAMPW program for windows and not just the DOS version (which runs but will not communicate).

Same thing

On my laptop the new version of the stamp editor does the same thing, make sure you have selected to use the right COM port. As soon as I load the program with the older version of the editor 1.096 or something like that works fine. Took it to another laptop and it downloaded just fine with the new software and the old? BTW I am using Win2000 the other laptop is Win98. Hope this helps and if you need the old version I can probably send it to you

Good Luck
Matt
