I used to play.. I have no idea where my deck is at though

Pin Man 30-03-2003 11:08

That was my brothers favorite game... He toughtme a little but I dont remember...

AdamT 30-03-2003 13:22

Wow, this is a really old game.

I can remember playing this in early middle school....this was before there was the 7 billionth edition.

In fact it was right around the first edition.....

srjjs 30-03-2003 18:44

I play, as do about 5 or 6 other people on my team, but we are not going to nationals :(

No, not 7 billion, it is only 8th this summer. They didn't start numbering them until 4th anyways.

KatieBKitten 31-03-2003 10:35

Yeah I love this game! I used to play it all the time. I don't really play much anymore because I have no one to play with and Robotics is eating up my life! :ahh: I never was that good anyway but I still have all my cards. Most of them are from the 1st set that came out! :D I think my favorite card has to be Nightmare. Coolest card!

I know they didn't number them, but I was referring to what you could consider the "First edition." End even though it's only the 8th edition this summer, that doesn't account for all the expansions between editions.

I worked with a kid once who was a pro. Won some money at a couple pro tournaments and everything.

Pin Man 31-03-2003 16:41

Hey I just found some magic cards

Jeff Waegelin 31-03-2003 16:42

I play occasionally. I'm by no means a fanatic, but I enjoy the game from time to time. Maybe I'll bring a deck to Houston, I don't know...

DarkRedDragon 31-03-2003 18:45

everyone bring decks and get your team members too, we can get a mad magic game going 10v10, lol

srjjs 31-03-2003 19:26

Apparently, the new set is not numbered either, it is officially the "Core Set."
The 20-player game will take you longer than nationals will last.

Judy 01-04-2003 20:20

My ex made me a deck for my birthday, and I sometimes play with my bro and his friends... if I can find my cards i guess i could dig out space in my bag... I'll just kick over the massive amounts of hair dye! lol
So yea, i'll bring one.. I don't know if i'll have much time to play, but track me down and we'll see.

note: this is one of my shameful geeky secrets.. so keep it very hush hush..

EIROBOTICS86 01-04-2003 21:07

DarkRedDragon 02-04-2003 06:40

MAGIC PARTY! w00t!

Nick Mac 06-04-2003 13:43

Yeah i play...not very avidly, but i play...I'll have a deck with me in Houston if you want...Just ask kids in Tie-Dye for Mac.

John JediMaster 06-04-2003 13:43

hey come find team 19, there are a bunch of people there who play. I'll tell them about it. Pretty much everybody plays, but only two freshmen and one sophmore really play that seriously that would have the time to do so. I'll get them to bring their decks and we could do a 3v3 match.

DarkRedDragon 06-04-2003 18:43

excellent

John JediMaster 07-04-2003 17:30

what kind of deck do you play? We've got some of the best players in the school on our team. Our leader was invited to the Mirage tournement when he was 11.

Nick Mac 07-04-2003 21:07

Team 88 will have 3 guys with cards on them. We're pretty good. If anyone feels like stoppin gbye our pits on Thursday in Newton, then we can arrange something.

Greg Powers 07-04-2003 21:26

~half our team plays ive got a respectable "beast" deck (quite good) and some other guy on our team has a cheesy control deck. i might bring out some cards and mess around..... possibly even do some trading
feel free to stop by our pit and see if im there ... ill tell the other members to bring their cards,

... the newer cards are such cheese old cards are almost obsolete now...

How is that? There were only 6 good cards printed in the last year, and 5 of them were lands...

EddieMcD 08-04-2003 16:23

I used to play Magic until Wizards screwed around with the Extended format (yes, I have a lot of old cards). I used to play the old Star Wars CCG (but we all know what happened to that), Overpower (probably the most underrated CCG of all time. Too bad they don't make it anymore), and Raw Deal (haven't played since they changed the card backs). I still play Star Trek every now and then (at least some of the new edition is compatible with the old one). I generally stick to tabletop games now. I currently play Heroclix and MechWarrior.

Back on topic though, I still have a few decks. Too bad I'm not going to Nationals this year. But next year, if anyone doesn't mind facing older cards, I'd play.

Ryan Dognaux 08-04-2003 16:24

Hmm... :Me goes and finds my deck:

I have a Plains and Swamp deck... it's kinda old, but not too old :p

Ask for "Raul" at 234's Pit, or maybe I'll be by your since I am scouting.. :D

As far as I know, they still make the cards, it's just no one ever plays it anymore. I had an unbeatable deck, it was the greatest, I played w/ the Light Side o'course :)

John JediMaster 09-04-2003 09:10

MTG players in Newton come and find John Goard, or Chewy. The will both have decks and will most likely have the time to play some MTG.
