It might be better if the ceiling wasn't so low in the hallways :D

Midwest regional

As a rookie program team 1163 found the Midwest Regional to be a very friendly, competitive and interesting site. The team area was a tad crowded but that just made everyone aware of the need to keep their pit area footprint tidy. The judges seemed fair and the help from more experienced teams was very nice. All the teams treated us well and gave the students helpful suggestions for making their robot better. We congratulate the winning teams but most of all congratulate everyone who attended because the patriotism and sense of pride during the opening ceremony on day 2 was fantastic. Even though we won't be attending the Finals I hope that something similar is done during the opening ceremony on at least one of the days.

Greg, I know what you mean. Every time I saw your team's bot coming back from the field, you had to duck it under the door frame leading into the pits...

Ya I know how how team 45 feels. Another foot would have been great!!! But then isn't that how the pit crew and drivers stay in shape? I don't think there should be a height problem at Nationals...

Maybe you should make a robot small enough so that it fits through a standard hallway on a cart that is as tall as yours is. ;) :D

I thaught this years Midwest was an improvement from last years. Aisles were bigger and also more spirted. There were also a lot more friendly teams willing to help out. I had a blast looking at all the different types of carts also :-)

Chicago

I, being a first year team member, enjoyed the Midwest Regional. Not having the experience as some of you others, I don't have any previous years of the Midwest to compare it to, but I thought it was well done.

Good job to 292, 45, and 245 in their victory.

Hey, speaking of carts, which team had that powered one that they sat on a tote to drive? That was very interesting.

Good Times

I LOVED the Midwest Regional the most out of all the others. This was My first year going to it and i had a blast. Lots of good teams their to make the competition more exciting.

We have never done this well before in the History of our robotics program so its great to hear all the support from other teams! thanks everybody!

Special thanks to teams 45 and 245 for helping us to our first Regional title ever! Good Luck to all the teams out there Going to Nationals! See you in Newton.

Speaking on behalf of most of team 648, the Midwest Regional was much better than StL. Our robot worked pefectly. We had even more team spirit. The refs were "kinda" better (you know the incident with the arm on top of us on the ramp lost 25 points and by 1 ). Too, bad the 6-8 mafia couldn't make it a bit further. It's all good. We'll be back next year and ready to rumble. MR was the best!
