Web hug in Houston?
 

So, I was wondering: is there going to be another Web Hug at Nationals this year?

I hope there is, I couldn't come to last years.

BTW, will there be bullet proof vests for rental before hand? :eek:

Everyone on Chiefdelphi meets at a place to say hi and then gets a big group hug. Go to the gallery and look at last years nats pictures to find last years goup hug pics.

I'm game. I'll be the one w/ the red hair and the big "5" on my back...

Should we do it where they allow all the teams to enter (in the front) so other CD-ers can see us doing the whole hippy-web-hug thing. I'm game for this. After that, mabye we should see how many people can fit into my hotel room....:p

I say we should meet in-between the "Y" thingy and the stadium. Seems large enough to hold a lot of people from CD and everyone should be able to spot it, or i'll yell and the echo would be able to notify people... :D

Just go to Mapquest and insert the address for the stadium and than get the areal photo...

At Epcot, it was outside, by a flagpole. I think I'll leave it to my dad to come up with a day/time/location. I'll notify him about this post & see if he can respond w/more info.

I've never been to been to nationals, but I think this web hug thing is cool. I don't post much, but I read alot of what other people have to say. It would be cool to see everybody in person.

I was in the stands w/the team, and then left early because I forgot to take my medicine for my stomach ... :(

Funny thing is, we probably live within 2-3 miles of each other :p

why do i always miss the good stuff? my best chance for a web hug will be next year, if i go, i may not be able to though. i was in the pits from opening to closing the last 2 years, and hey, this year, i'm at PSU, i so wanted to meet all you guys, cause you seem like cool people, i laugh at a lot of your posts, most of you seem pretty personable... if none of you have heard of me, or none of you care, i understand, i was a hermit cause of my pit crew duties... and high maintenance robots. anyhoot, sorry i can't make it to my fans out there :-þ and have a good hug without me... don't destablize the atmosphere with too much body heat in one area... it's gonna be a hot one. let's hear it for the mentors and former students who can't make it to nats!(classes and funding) *gives his best telekinetic hug*

My wife had that. Unbelievably she got totally rid of it in 3 weeks by switching to a 100% fruit and vegetable diet. She eats other stuff now but still mostly raw food. Of course, since she is the cook, I am eating a lot of salads these days which seems to help me also with my digestion--very little gas now.

So, do we have any official word on the Web Hug, yet? It's only a few days away...

Ok, I give up. If Brandon's dad dosn't say anything yet, then I say we meet infront of Enstein field on Thrusday durring the lunch break.

Well, he's probably on the way back from Grand Rapids right now (47 was there), so give him a day or two to respond. Mr. Martus will respond eventually.

As some of you may or may not know, Rochester Hills (and neighboring cities) have been hit with an ice storm that has knocked out power to 200,000 people.

I know that Brandon has lost power. While I don't know if Mr. Martus doesn't have power, if he doesn't it would explain very well why he hasn't been on the internet.

The only problem with the Einstein field might be that it could be closed on Thursday. I thought I read that it would only be used during the finals. However, Thursday is the day to do it on.

I missed last year's by a few minutes. Could we make it closer to the pit area so that we can just run out and get to everyone? Hoping to see everyone this year.

Well, I'll avoid this, just to remain a faceless entity named tatsak. I'll be one of those kids running around with ram horns and a red shirt with a robot patrol shirt on. and a button that says 159, saying that i'm one of the 4 people on the field... hopefully...

I'll try my best to make it. I missed it the last time I was at nationals, three years ago.

I won't have any red hair anymore, so hopefully no one will recognize me ;) (yes!!!).

There won't be lunch break on Thursday, and I am pretty sure I will be running one of the scoring table... So I will try my best to be there. Good way to see what everyone looks like before the madness begins ;).

If I don't even make the web hug, find me on the field!

Oh yeah, if you have anything cool from your team, maybe you can bring it to the web hug and give them out before we have to hunt them down in the pits.

It was at the flagpole for the one year that there actually was flagpole there. I remember valiently trying to find a flagpole in 2000 when there wasn't any. We then held it on the grassy knoll.

Then again, I'm glad to have tracked down this thread as I couldn't see anything about it before then.

I missed it cuase I had to go to Houston on Tuesday and the hotel had no affordable internet access. I refused to pay 10 a day for internet. Maybe next year.

I missed it because I forgot about it and went to lunch instead. :(

I'm sorry that I didn't go, but we had some auto/robot problems. (we had put a new gear ratio and we used dead reckoning for out auto-mode - had to change all the timing) I met some people that I have spoken to here on CD.com, but I really wished that I could of gone, but as you all know, your robot has to be working before you can relax...

Heh...I was hungry so I got lunch and forgot about it...until 3 that afternoon :(

i whish people would tell me about these things!!! Dave and I went to look for it and by the time we got there, it was too late! I didn't even know about it until Dave told me he was going to look for it. :( My senior year and I miss out on the best picture of all!!!:(

yeah, i made an attempt to go, but then i was caught up because who i was going with had a match soon after, so they couldn't go, so i was like, crap! yeah... gr. :rolleyes:

Missed it because I was operator of a match at that time :-\
