I haven't really ever played ddr but i went to the mall today with raul and the chaz. Some how they talked me into a song...i sucked pretty bad but am definitely willing to try it again. I even am trying to get my brother at rose hulman to loan me his dance pad and the game and am downloading the computer version as we speak. I shall give it a shot...

Heh....i would take DDR to nationals....but the problem is we're not GOING. Oh well.

Hey and some advice to anyone just starting out in DDR...dont be embarrassed to play, ask good players for tips, and most importantly, watch how they play. The computer DDR sims are also great tools for beginners, they're really good practice for arrow reading.

Onizuka 05-04-2003 23:48

Finally some people that understand the addiction known as DDR. There is no game quite like DDR and the atmosphere of getting alot of people who play it together.

on a sidenote: max unlimited, waka laka, and max 300 in the same 3 song set. most painful fun evar:yikes:

MFlores05 17-04-2003 15:29

Amen to that, brother!

More advice to beginners: Don't stay in the middle, pivot whenever possible, and try to listen to the msuic and get a feel for the rhythm and beat.

I just started about a month (+) ago.. yeah definately don't keep your feet in the middle of the pad, that's what I did and it really screwed me up when I tried to go to faster songs. I still have the tendancy to do that every now and then...

Oh yeah, just do songs that you like , the point of DDR is to have fun... I probably will never ever try to do max 300 or max unlimited just due to the fact that I wouldn't find them fun. Songs like Cowgirl and Candy are my kinda songs :D

Good Job! :)

Did anyone go and play the arcade machine at The Galleria?? A few people from my team did.. other than the left pad being messed up, it was great fun :)

andisosmiley 19-04-2003 17:46

our team went bowling with team 179 and as soon as people got there they were playing DDR. then when we were done bowling they were back in there playing again. i didn't play but it was fun watching everyone else (especially Teresa!! lol):D

man it sucks to go from pads to the arcade version, It took me a couple songs to get a hang of it, though the back bar does come in handy.

I am a DDRfreak. Its fun.
Unfortunatly, (fortunatly for my wallet) the closest DDR machine is a MAX2 (Extreme upgrade on the way) 40 minutes from my house, so I only spend $20 or so every few weeks.(50cent three songs)
The Pump-It-Up 5 minutes from my house, however, I play alot. 75cents for three songs, but I A them and get 4.
still 75cents for doing doubble...I still get real dizzy after doing Bethoveen's virus doubbles....

There was a 5th mix in LA that was 25cents for three songs. Very cool, the owner said he bought it for himself and kids, and put it in his store to make a little extra money.

Simulator
Dance With Intensity
I've 398 songs, including all the offical songs/steps. PS->USB converters(2) CHECK!

Ahh man those songs are so much fun, and they sound cool too. Oh well, they are tiring....but so much fun.
Last...I think....weekend I spent $12 at the arcade...well at the mall. I think I bought one of the 4 dollar cookies as well...those are good :D . DDR is great, without it I'd probably be bored a lot more than I am now.

Re: Dance Dance Revolution

BUMP!!
I'd just thought I'd bump this thread up to see how people are coming along with the Dance Dance Revolution craze. Obivously we can't play it very much during the build, but for all those DDR Freaks out there, this thread is for you :)

Opinions, questions, comments - post it all here :]
