I am sad to say that I am perhaps one of the few Asians that has NOT played DDR ever. No real reason why. The songs are pretty good though.

Unfortunatly, (fortunatly for my wallet) the closest DDR machine is a MAX2 (Extreme upgrade on the way) 40 minutes from my house, so I only spend $20 or so every few weeks.(50cent three songs)
The Pump-It-Up 5 minutes from my house, however, I play alot. 75cents for three songs, but I A them and get 4.
still 75cents for doing doubble...I still get real dizzy after doing Bethoveen's virus doubbles....

There was a 5th mix in LA that was 25cents for three songs. Very cool, the owner said he bought it for himself and kids, and put it in his store to make a little extra money.

Dance With Intensity
I've 398 songs, including all the offical songs/steps. PS->USB converters(2) CHECK!

Havn't played in almost a week, becoming delierious.

The best way to solve this problem???? Just work at the place where the machine is kept!!!!! Free Play kicks $@#$@#$@#!

I love DDR - I've been playing for about 2 years but I haven't played in about a month :( . I know it's a bit early, but is anyone planning on bringing DDR to Atlanta? I was also thinking that maybe on Thursday night we could go to the International Bowling Arcade (they have an Extreme). I'm glad there are people I can talk about DDR and Robotics with :D (some of my friends like DDR, but it's so hard for me to explain FIRST and the competition to them).

Oh... and who was the one who introduced you to DDR?
hmm... seems a bit fuzzy, oh wait, was it me and sarah? yeah, yeah.. that seems about right... :p

yeah. $1.50, that really sucks... we have a place around here that runs for $0.25 a game, 3 songs..
me and my sister just went in together and bought two arcade pads, though. they have the bar and everything.
woo. what an investment!

Mmm...DDR. FFR is a substitute that does well enough when you don't have a pad anywhere's close by but you have a computer. I suck at DDR...I think I'm actually better at FFR...by a lot. My fingers go faster than my feet.

Stepmania is far superior to Flash Flash Revolution.

I recently started playing DDR. I have to admit I had my doubts when I started but after I get in to it, it's quite fun. I also (about a week ago) passed my first 4 foot song. The machine I use is 4 songs for 50 cents, so we usually play doubles so each person only pays a quarter.

I love DDR it so much fun. Another girl and me always goes somewhere to play it. I'm not too good at it. But I'm thinking of buying a thing similar to DDR where I could just play it at home, it's easier to be silly w/o making a fool of yourself in front of like total strangers.

Wow every now and then it seems this thread just gets bumped back up :)

For the computer, you can get stepmania.. it's just DDR on your computer, and you can download the song/step files from IRC. Once you do that, you can get a PS -> USB Convertor that's supported by Stepmania, and actually play DDR w/ a pad on your computer with every song from every mix, for free It's a pretty sweet deal :)

Also just wondering.. is anyone into other Bemani (music) games?? I'm a fan of Beatmania, AKA IIDX. It's a game where you have a turn table and 7 keys, and you press the keys/turn the turntable when little bars come down from the top of the screen. Like DDR, it's also very addicting, but hasn't been released in America yet.

I have to agree with you. IIDX is the best thing ever. It isn't released in America, but then look at DDR! There's that flashing screen that says "not for production outside of Japan" and whatnot. :). Time will tell! My friends Tim and Adam have access to IIDx controllers. I assume it's something you get online, and they also have like, 7 or 8 discs at the moment Drummania rocks my world (you showed it to me...great game). Then there is other related games, like Para Para, Karaoke Revolution, and Pump it Up, all of which are fabulous fun. MUSIC GAMES LIVE!
