Curie Statistics

Curie Regional Finalists (15%):
16, 71, 79, 87 (twice), 103, 121, 188, 291, 322, 343, 955

Curie Regional Winners (20.3%):
25, 60, 115, 171, 188, 212, 245 (twice), 322, 395, 494, 522, 548, 650, 1140, 1218

My money is on Curie. Needless to say competition in the division will be intense! Congrats to all of y'all for doing so well at the regionals. See you in a few days!

Please correct me if I missed any of the teams.

Thanx,
Wayne

As do I.
By the way to every one out there, I just got a call from Woodie-he says, "Archimedes will win fo' sho!"
I guess that settles it.

If your basing this on PAST performance...
Curie has definitely got the grand-daddy of all winners.

71

Three time national champ?
Two time consecutive, defending national champion?

They've won nationals 3/7 times they've competed.
Anyone else got a record like that?

In the FIRST world you can't spell winner without "Beatty".

Personally, I think it's too close to call this year. Each division is well balanced, and this game lends itself to weird upsets. I see quite a few potential "god" alliances that might occur. It all comes down to how the picking goes.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...
Alliance selection is the single MOST important part of this years game. Finals will be won and lost during the draft.

Good luck to everybody. Go Curie!

Hehe, the bigger they are, the harder they fall :yikes:

But yes, 71 has an impressive track record. I hold so much respect for both them and Kingman because every year I know I will see some good stuff from them ;)

Some stats for the divisions

Using the best regional result from each team:

Number of top-8 seeded teams:
Archimedes 27
Curie 21
Newton 26
Galileo 17
Average QP:
Archimedes 108
Curie 101
Newton 103
Galileo 100
Average Ranking:
Archimedes 17
Curie 19
Newton 17
Galileo 19

You can see that Archimedes and Newton are the top-heavy divisions. Galileo (my division) seems to be the weakest.

Archimedes, all the way.... why? Because that's where I'll be, that's why!

Newton, after all he was the inventer of Calculus! Newton and Archemedies seem to have some of the better performers this year. Past performance is not a very good indicationj of how well teams will do this year. Alot of "Rookie" teams seem to be doing well. What really matters is how well you've scouted the other teams your up against, robot reliability and technical skill, and experienced drivers. We have in Newton a couple of teams who have either won or runnered up in the REgional finals. Also, there are many teams that show a consistant performance. Just as in Drag Racing, consistantcy is the key to qualifying and winning. Just my 2 sense.

Rookie team 1114 [SimBotics] held on for a while in the Pittsburgh regionals.

hmmmmmmm.... interesting...

on another note..... newton has won the last 2 championships... you never kow bout that division :p..... but this game is crazy! anyone might come out and surprise even the big dogs. look at 902 this year... unfortunate they couldn't come, but a second year team that could push nearly anyone all over the field! so well, you just never know..
