What is your favorite post-season competition?
On the west coast we have 2 post season events and we hear about events in other areas of the country.
What is your favorite post-season event? |
My favorite post-season event was the Brunswick Eruption that my team (25) held last November. Our school layout is perfect for competitions and we had great food.
|
Definitely IRI. You can't beat a 2-day event with all the best teams in the Midwest. Plus, we were 1st seed and winners last year. It was a great time!
|
you guys holding it again? caus we were thinking we might possibly, (would have to work out the details, such as if we could have the school for the day.)
i would love to try and get my team together to show all the new members how the competitions run, i remember my freshman year on the team we went to rumble in the hills, at watchung, which was awesome. |
Beantown Blitz
I'm working on making the Beantown Blitz a new favorite... lets just say I'm doing my best to make it a reincarnation of Rumble
I hear so much about IRI that I might try to travel out there personally this summer... it would be a fun road trip Otherwise, I always had a good time at Battlecry ByE erin |
Ramp Riot of course ;)
Although Brunswick Eruption, PARC, Duel on the Delaware, and the MD State Fair were all extremely enjoyable as well. |
I'm a fan of battlecy@wpi
|
California Robot Games, organized by the WRRF.
|
IS there any question??
Battlecry has all the best teams from the northeast, a great set-up, good refs;) , and we're going for the hatrick this year, hope we don't have to flip rage to win it:(
|
My team has never done a post competition but we want to this year so could anyon give more info or tell me where we could sig up for any of these. Thanxz

It takes a good year to plan one of these and do it right. I know Paul K. is already well into that process. |
The Duel
I enjoyed working on the Dupont Duel on the Delaware host by teams 316 and 365 last year. We plan on having it again this year.
2000 Ramp Riot is my fav since it is the first FIRST competition I ever attended. I still remember running victory laps around the gym like it was only yesterday. |
The WRRF's CalGames...
|
My favorite
I have always thought the most underrated and one of the best put together offseasons each year is Mayhem on the Merrimack. They usually have a very solid group of teams from the northeast, and the competition runs smoother than most other offseasons.

One day or two? Location? |

Probably 1 and 1/4 days (Friday night for setting up, some inspections, and maybe a little practice), like last year. It will probably be held at Pioneer High School, again. We're already talking about what side-events we're going to incorperate into the competition. |
Defiantly the FORD Sweet Repeat being held by Team 1037
|
Are there any off-season comps that go on somewhere that's not in the NE. I'd love to go to one but I live in AR.

Cal Robot Games,
I just wish that it was a 2 day event! |
Mayhem on the Marrimak has been a favorite of mine. They just have it down, and Manchvegas is such a grovy town.
Theres a pretty neat one up in Lebanon that was a bit of fun... -Andy A. |
KETTERING AND SWEET REPEAT!!!
Thoes are the 2 that we regularly go to! Good luck to all the teams that are going there!! (I won't be there :( ) |
I know im showing my age on this one but my all time favorite was Rumble at the rock, it was just so cool competing being not to far from Plymouth Rock, and right next to the ocean.
|
IRI definitely..... well i haven't been to any other off-season competitions but i was on the team the first year we did IRI here in Kokomo and its only gotten better since.....
What else could be better then competing with the best of the best of the Midwest?! :D |
It's all about IRI!

mayhem on the merrimack is held in tyngsboro mass. River Rage is held in Manchvegas... it is easy to get the two confused. Bad |
Def. like Battle Cry. Always fun to go to. Best one was 2001 with 2 bridges and 2 vs. 2.

I have a feeling that the IRI is going to be the Post Season Tourney of the summer |
