Matches You Want to See at PARC
 

Here are a couple of autonomous period matches I'd like to see at the PA Robot Challenge, which I don't think happened during the regular season:

25 vs 102 (speed vs speed, could be spectacular)
84 vs 433 (dueling across the ramp, if the Firebirds make it)

With so many great teams I can't choose what maches I would like to see at the PARC....I do know we have a bunch of huge teams this year with many awards! I can't wait....OK maybe there is one match I wanna see and that's a replay of the finals at J&J 87, 103, and 222 against a 25 alliance!

I guess we should just put a bullseye on the Evil Machine....

How about this
 

25 and 87 vs. 102 and 103
OR
25 and 103 vs. 102 and 87
OR
25 and 222 vs. 102 and 87
OR...

you get the idea ..... 25 head-to-head with 102 in autonomous, each with strong partners and skilled drivers

and, of course, 103 with 87 one more time would be nice ... two silver medals together thus far ...

Nah, actually, we're really looking forward to going against 25 in autonomous since we never got the chance.

Come to think of it, I seem to recall that Manvillians and Cybersonics made a pretty good alliance at J&J, so how about some "seasoned veteran" + rookie matches? A shame Mercury isn't coming. I don't think we met 1143 in our regionals so we can look forward to playing with them, anyway!

I've never seen 102. How fast are they?

put it this way ...
when both 25 and 102 have the autonomous dialed in their arms should hit the stacks within .2 seconds of eachother based on multiple timing records compiled by our scouting crew at multiple events.
25 is faster, but 102 has a longer extention arm
they would both be at or near the top traveling at a high rate of speed.
broken bins - absolutely
robots dented and parts flying - almost certain
a robot upside down - quite possibly

Speed
 

Well, we don't actually make our turn at full speed. We never had a chance to fully tweek autonomous mode before shipping the machine. If possible, I'd like to make our autonomous mode a bit faster. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do that before PARC. Although, I'm not sure if I can make it there either.

Btw, I had my Gold Medal signed by Dean Kamen. :)

Hey we're just gonna have to wait and see how they end up. Hopefully when all the smoke clears there will be one alliance at least left standing......Good luck to all and we're gonna see the best competition yet!

Just out of curiosity? How many teams will actually be using their drive teams? I know our team will be beginning the transition to a new floor team, as we are finally leaving this year. Input?

For any teams that did not get to read my other post, I would like to inform all teams that in all the teams attending the PARC took home 56 awards!!!!!! It's gonna be a great one!

Okay, I'll bite: what is it's real name?

I want to see us with 25 or MOE... that's pretty much it. We went against 25 too much in Chesapeake (and won) but never against or with MOE. Both are great robots and we want to be with our fellow stackers :)

Chesapeake was the shakedown cruise. 25 is MUCH BETTER NOW.

team 222 just got their bot back tonight....no shipping incidients this time......expect the unexpected outta our machine at the PARC is all I can say!

How about this: Just mascots on the field against each other. That'd be fun, we can get Dano in his jacket, the tiger, and a few others, It'll be fun!

We actually do have a mascot called the spirit catcher. None the less, I will be doing any danced played if the mascots go out. Oh, BTW, I bought that green jacket as a white jacket! I dyed it green and then put the satin strips on it. It took many tiring hours, but I think it is beginning to look like a zoot suit. Some of the MOE MOthErs put my name on the back. That looks really cool, and they spent a lot of time on it. See you guys at the PARC!

I think the MOE Mascots would win. The Spirit Catcher would trap another mascot while the Giant MOE Stick would Clap it to death. We could even bring the old 15-foot tall Uppets as enforcers. ALL SHALL FALL TO THE MOE MASCOT ONSLAUGHT!!!!!!

Bryan... I hate to burst your bubble.... but don't expect either of the uppets to be bouncers for your violent plans... they took the path of MOE(2000) and MOEhawk(2002) (who have been canabalised for parts and used to test other robot ideas)... half of the parts are who knows where... and the parts we have cannot work without the ones we do not have. [I think some of the parts [example.... the "shedding" arms] went "MISSING" because i hated them with a vengance by the time the season was over.]

GeroniMOE has not yet returned to the BEC either... of course he might have arrived this morning... but I am up before Joe would even be at work to send on the e-mail message of his arrival.


[PS- there is no way in H. E. L. L.!!! that i wish to touch either of the Uppets again. You and I both know that I am the only one who knows how to put them together correctly... and the instructions were only a page long. (In a small font.) and people still got it wrong!]

I know. It took me abut 3 hours and about half a roll of duct tape to build the original Uppet :D. It was worth it to walk around the halls of Avon Grove High with a giant puppet on my back during Homecoming 2002.

I want to see us against 25 and 365. Especially 365 though, because my team hasn't played with or against them yet.

A wise man once said, "I pitty the fool who wants to take on 25 AND 365". That sounds like a death match waiting to happen.

And on the topic of matches that I'd like to see, I would like to see a match with a stacker and a robot with great autonomous/strength compete with another similar team. That'd be an ideal matchup.

well, after reading all the posts of wanting to see a rematch of the jnj finals, as one of the side events, or maybe even after everythingis said and done, a "special" match could be arranged where 222 could try and take revenge with their alliance. ;)

I say nay! I feel that we would be a great alliance. You guys control the opponents' side, while GeroniMOE stacks to the heavens. Then you guys take control of the ramp and give us some room to get up there with you... and BAM huge points! lol, I think it would be interesting to go against you guys too, as long as we both have capable partners. hehehe.

Doable, doable- but we play it with MOE hitting the wall and Evil Machine disrupting the other teams wall attack, then protect MOE and the stacks until both machines run for the ramp.

If we do that I need to see Evil Machine ending the match on top of 303. Or hit their ramp at high speed and get air over the top of the ramp.


Of course this all may be moot because we haven't gotten our machine back yet....

I still have pieces of Bambi fur in the shattered remains of my hood. My son in the passenger seat got the best view when half a deer smashed through his window. They don't fare well at 70 MPH but they do make a tasty snack....

Team 222 is giving our senior driver one more shot. he had been on the team for four years and deserves to be out there in front of his home town crowd. We hope teams have a great time and when the smoke clears whether it be new drivers or the seniors, everyone takes home great memories! Good Luck to all!!!!!!

i want to see the J&J alliance of 87, 103, and 222 duke it out with anyother alliance... its almost a sure victory for us... that is cuz we rule. however i wont be there... i have to attend my sister's college graduation (she went the 5 year plan)... i dont think i can get out of this one.
