1st period updates

Stars 1, Ducks 0

Minnesota 1, Cannucks 0

Jeff Waegelin 05-05-2003 23:11

Well... we'll see if DJ is right, after all. Can the Stars hold their lead?

D.J. Fluck 06-05-2003 00:17

Period 2 Updates

6-2 Wild

2-2 Tie (Ducks & Stars)

---------

Prediction for the eastern conference finals:

Ottawa over Jersey in 6

D.J. Fluck 06-05-2003 01:27

Wow, Dallas loses because of a goal that was called back (by NHL rules it should have counted...but it was one of those FIRST-like rules that nobody knows which is the proper way to interpret :p). Yeah they lost...

I just saw the video again and I am outraged even more...

One team left in the 2nd round..

Kristina 06-05-2003 02:04

:) Wow, if I posted what DJ IM'ed me when the stars were eliminated, his political career would be gone...but I'm nice like that.

Anywho, I'm 3/3 (Ottowa, New Jersey, Anaheim) and Minnesota's still alive. We'll see if I can bat 1000.

Matt Attallah 06-05-2003 11:27

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The Ducks won, agian!! I hope they go all the way to the cup - than win it!! Don't ever defy the "Hockey God" agian...

(i didn't get the total match right, but the ducks still pulled out. I'm just hoping that the Wild will come back like they did aginst the Avs - hahahahahahahaha!)

Clark Gilbert 06-05-2003 12:21

Go Ducks Go! :D

Quack, Quack, Quack :D

lol

Um, K...

"Batting a thousand" is the term you're looking for, i think. Batting a hundred would mean you're doing really bad. =-]

Not to mention you're mixing you're sports metaphores. Considering this is you making hockey predictions, I'd say "sneaking one through the five hole" would be more accurate. ;-]

Kristina 06-05-2003 12:49

Lol, thanks George...I really did know that and I did cross my mind that I was making a baseball analogy but I didn't know any hockey ones.

/me makes mental note to self not to post late at night, especially after slaving away at a paper for hours and on a caffeine low.

So in a game or two we'll see if its Minnesota or Vancouver against the Ducks and then on the East its Ottowa v. New Jersey. I guess we'll finish up the West coast before the next round of predictions are made.

Jeff Waegelin 06-05-2003 15:11

I'd just like to take this opportunity to laugh at DJ... HAHAHA!

Yeah, they lost. The Ducks will lose. But hey, at least they didn't go out in 4 games :D hahahaha

Ouch... below the belt, DJ...

/me points at Drrrrrrrrr Jay and laughs really really hard

Cory

P.S. That was a valid interpretation of the rule. The goal was in the air before and during the moment the puck crossed the line, invalidating it.

By definition of that rule, the goal was not moving until after the puck went in. Bad call. They were screwed, but I am going to deal with it. ;)

Anyway, Ottawa will take it all

D. Gregory 08-05-2003 23:02

I'm taking Ottawa over New Jersey because they have an offensive ability.
I'm taking Ducks over Vancouver or Minnesota over Ducks depending on how things work out tonight. (Go Wild!) I have no confidence in Cloutier as a goalie, an 881% save percentage isn't even AHL worthy.
