Don't worry, they're on underneath :yikes:

He's on a Segway though, so that makes up for it. I wonder if his leg muscles still exist!

I was going through an old photo album at the site yesterday back in '92 after the X-Cats won the Chairman's award and were at the White house I believe and they had a pic of Dean in a suit and with a beard.

Harrison 27-04-2003 19:08

When he got up off his segway and walked up onto the stage at Nats I recall hearing a bunch of people exclaim "He can walk!"...lol

He walked at Kickoff... I'm surprised noone remembers that. Everyone was so amazed that Dean walked up to the podium, but it's only been 4 months since he did it last.

I *definitely* can't picture Dean with a beard. Does anyone have pictures?

Madison 27-04-2003 22:01

okay, so am I the only one who thinks his head looks abnormally large for his body in that photo?

If you look at one of the FIRST videos from last year (the one that has the "After Ten Years" segment) there is an interview with Dean from 1992 at the White House - beard and all.

I'll try to find it and upload a screenie of a bearded Dean.

Ask andyou shall recieve...

Amanda Morrison 28-04-2003 16:13

yahhhhhhhh!

What is growing on his face?! :ahh:

I have definitely not seen this picture... and while I maintain that Dean Kamen would be the ideal prom date (think about it... all those awkward moments would replaced with talk of the stirling engine, he'd pick you up in a helicopter, you could dance on your Segways together...) the beard still had to go.

*shudders*

Can someone still upload the screenie?

srawls 28-04-2003 16:22

Haha, I remember last year spotting the quick shot of Dean with a beard, and I thought it looked wierd on him.

Anyway, I hope MOE doesn't mind, but I am including this picture of Dean Kamen in a school presentation I have to do on robotics.

Thanks!
Stephen

Well......That's mildly disturbing. LOL!

He doesn't look bad, but I think he'd look really good if he went for an updated look. I'm talkin' one of those newer style collarless shirts and a waistcoat/vest underneath an unbuttoned jacket to show it off a bit.
Denim is a true classic that should never go ouyt of style, but when a man who touts technology and progress, is forced to dress formally, (Poor guy) it is an excellent opportunity to make a subtle statement/representation of his forward thinking by his choice of attire. Plus, the opportunity to express one's self with the underlying vest (in whatever color) should help alleviate the drudgery of having to wear that same darn tux every time.

Oh man! I hated wearing those itchy, uncomfortable concert gowns all the time, but at least we girls have more options and opportunities to express ourselves through our outfits, than you poor guys.

Me/ cringes at the thought that you will all now think I am shallow for revealing my knowledge of clothes; But hey- I design them on the side, so like....whatever.

The mild shudders have now turned into full-blown convulsions. I think Dean is much more handsome without the beard [emphasis on much].

I'm with Amber H. - a nice prom-esque tux, and I'd say he could have easily overtaken John F. Kennedy Jr. as the most eligible bachelor. :)

Video AND Photo of Dean on Segway

Well, I was not on the team last year, but we did have this very video playing at our presentation. I was quite shocked at the photo myself.

In regards to using the photo for presentation purposes, it was a News Journal photo, and I do believe it is illegal to use their photos without their consent. We've had to worry about such troubles before.

So, just take that as a precaution, and private message me with a reply.

Too true, He is VERY cute. Who could resist those adorble dark eyes?
But hey, I'm a sucker for dark hair and eyes.

Amanda Morrison 29-04-2003 00:51

I don't care what anyone says, I think he's cute whipping around on his little Segway. And he cares about kids and their futures, and he is probably one of the most innovative people alive today.

*sighs*

Double *sigh*!

I guess that means I'm no longer a "closet" technology groupie anymore. My cover's been blown.

Oh well........
