FIRST Music

Hey.

I was wondering if some of you could help me out and name some songs that FIRST plays at the awards ceremony. I am making a list for our team awards.

sanddrag 07-05-2003 18:34

Leslie Carter - Like Wow
Smashmouth - All Star
...?

Madison 07-05-2003 18:43

"With A Little Help From My Friends" by The Beatles.
..there's also an instrumental piece. I don't know what it is.

Edit: I'm pretty sure Clark completed his collection where this is concerned. He can help whenever he's around again . . .he's probably at Clarkit City or something.

Clark has finished the FIRST awards music section of the IRI playlist....

I'm sure that in you IM him at twinattack or email him at cgilbert@indianafirst.org he'll send you an updated list.......

for now i'll point ya to this thread which contains a playlist on page 2.... i think the majority of the FIRST songs are the first few on the list http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...threadid=20353

Eric Clapton - It's in the way that you use it
Bachman Turner Overdrive - You Aint' Seen Nothing Yet
Leslie Carter - Like Wow
Peter Gabriel - Big Time
Smash Mouth - All Star
Phil Collins - Dance Into The Light
Beatles - "With a little help from my friends" song
U2 - Beautiful Day
DMB - I Did It
Simon and Garfunkel - Pina Coloda

Note: These may not be the exact names of the songs, but if you search for these titles you will find them. :D

It's The Beatles' "With A Little Help From My Friends".

And, "The Pina Colada Song" is actually called "Escape," and it was written and performed by Rupert Holmes.

:p

Here's the one that most people aren't familiar with

Go Daddy-O by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

I've heard it for 2 or 3 years now. Can't specifically remember it at Nationals, but it was at Philly this year.

That's the instrumental swing piece they play :) Thank you. Is that from the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy album? ...the self-titled one, that is.

I swear I've heard Queen's "We are the Champions" used at a FIRST awards ceremony before. I don't know when and where I heard it, and I don't know why they'd use a song that proclaims there's "no time for losers", but I remember hearing it at an event and wondering why they'd use it.

dez250 08-05-2003 16:57

i know this year first did not play we are the champions for a few reasons, one it being felt that the people who did loose did and have gotten offended. I am so happy they didnt repla that rap song from last year that had the half naked females in it, deans facial expression last year when he saw that was priceless, does anyone remember that?

I remember that... classic, I must say. I thought it was last year, though DJ claims it was 2001. I can't remember exactly, myself.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

Go Daddy-O was from Bid Bad Voodoo Daddy's self-titled album
