I'm an idiot (ricksta's apology)
I'm truly sorry for all the trouble I started recently and have started in the past. I don't try to start arguments, it just seems that way. I brag to much and post to cockily(is that even a word). Anyways from now on at least 3 members from my team will need to proofread my posts before i post them. Ralley was fun to a point and we wont completely rule out going again.
I'm especially sorry to you Brandon, giving you extra work and such. This is my last post for at least a couple weeks so you can all rest easy knowing Ricksta121 wont be posting. |
I also apologize for my last 2 post about Todd D from 88.
They were not gracious, and deleted them before the thread closed. |
Thanks you guys for showing your true quality.

OK PHEW, I can finally discuss this. Yes rick you're an idiot, I think i need to shove a permanent cookie or cheeseburger in your mouth just to shut you up.
I also apologize on behalf of team 121. Gracious professionalism should be kept above anything else in FIRST. |
Thank you rick for creating this post. I've allready sent my apology to Brandon, and i as well would like to apologize to anyone else who was involved in this little feud. Sorry guys. Lets talk about the positive things concerning robots now.
|
I too am sorry for what happened...
|
I also apologize to a lot of people. I have created arguments in the last few weeks on the posts. If anyone ever has a problem with any of my posts, feel free to send me a message. I know that we all "jump the gun" a little on what we believe in, "Didn't you know us robotics people are the first to start a fight" LOL. What I say is that were here to have fun, not to argue.
Good Luck to everyone at the invitationals. |
I'm not sorry for anything I've ever said. If I said it I meant it.

I probably regret a few things I've said, but seriously, dont spend too much thought on it. As human beings you grow and learn and as long as you keep an open mind about things and admit your mistakes you are OK, in my opinion. To be close minded and stubborn constantly(although one must be steadfast to some extent) is true stupidity. |
I'm confused..... what started all of this in the first place?

But regret aside ... I think the important thing is to learn from your past mistakes. Realize that what you say can be damaging and you should be careful with your words. That brings to mind another politically charged example :) How about the dixie chicks? They seem not to regret what they said; only what it caused. To me that doesn't seem right. Quote:
[edit] Well, there do seem to be a lot of posts I wasn't aware of. So I understand where everyone was comping from... but the point still stands. Yes, I know he called himself an idiot; I can't help but think it was due to outside motivation, however; further it was seconded by others. I just think enlightenment as opposed to insults is the path to take. But now I understand where the sentiment comes from. [/edit] Is it thought he doesn't have a clear understanding of gracious profesionalism (from what I gather)? Well, is the solution to call him an idiot and hope he doesn't come back? I hope not. |

But, I do agree the solution is not to call him an idiot and ban him from the forums. He called himself an idiot, and said himself he wouldn't post for a while, though. If you read this, Ricksta121, don't feel shunned by these boards, just post responsibly, and you'll make a lot of friends. Stephen |

simple note hahahaha dont ever be wrong .... so think before YOU SPEAK since that is way toooo hard to do all the time then lets MELEE!!!!! |
Hey guys. You just turned someone's apology thread into something else. That's not cool. If you want to argue with each other, start your own thread doing that. Don't ruin someone trying to do something right after realizing what he done is wrong.
Enough is enough. |
I agree with Ken 100%...
|
Yeah ken
good call.. yeah sorry about that just putting in my two cents
but got more than i bargained for:D |
One of the first lessons I was taught as a high school student on my team is that what you do and say when you are wearing a team shirt (or representing yourself as a member of your team by, for instance, noting a team # here) will reflect back on not only yourself but your entire team, especially the bad stuff. Therefore, it's important that if you respect your teammates, you realize this and act appropriately. As a driver for 4 years, this was stressed because the stage crew typically had the highest interaction with other teams as well were often the most recognizable faces from the team due to being on stage all the time. It was a lesson I took to heart because I didn't want my actions to ever cause anyone or any team to look badly on my team, and it is a lesson I work to practice today.
I respect Ricksta for his apology to people on this forum. I agree with everyone's right to argue and have opinions (I'm big on this :P) however, I know at times I've seen some of the posts as harsh and arrogant and I've had to work very hard not to attach those comments to the whole team. 121 is a good team that 190 is proud to maintain a good working relationship with, but it isn't always easy for me to seperate the comments. In any case, I urge everyone to think about what they post, say and do and how that will reflect on not only yourself but the team you represent. It will help you focus what you do while hopefully not burning any bridges or causing hard feelings. And if you see someone on your team acting in a manner you think is inappropriate, approach them immediately and discuss it rather than just letting it pass, because it eventually does weigh heavily on your team. Just something to keep in mind, because many lessons can be learned from these incidents :) (And let's keep in clean at Mayhem ;-)) |

Your whole post was very well written Colleen. That is exactly how I feel. Thank you. PS - I've met Rick a few times in person, and he's really a very nice guy. Don't judge people strictly based on these forums. |
well said
indeed... i dont see how can anyone automatically assume wut anyone says reflect anyones else opinion but his/her own
and (im also big on it ) im all for people saying wut they want lol as long as wut they want to say isnt hurtful or arrogant hahaha ya know but if its gonna be that way then keep its with people that enjoy a good "argument " even if its just yelling lol no to productive but seems like sometimes necessary and even a bit fun for some people So if some says something that shouldn't be posted because its sounds like fighting words just tell them " HEY THAT BELONGS IN THE MELEE FORUM" :D |

People are good
nah i dont think so ... i think most CDer out there deserve alil more credit than that ... as far as i see most threads get thru fine with out any bashing of any kind ... most people are on here for info ... because there bored ... because its fun .. and becasue its FIRST hahaha .. im sure there would be few threads in a Melee forum and infact as time goes on i belive it be less and less people ..
But thats just me:D |
I've also had some opportunities to talk to the members of team 121, mainly Kyle. He's a very nice guy and shouldn't be judged by his posts on CD. John said it very well. A lot of people are missjudged by the way they post on CD and talk about thier robots. You have to admit, everyone loves to talk highly of thier robot and thier accomplishments.
