Oh, and yes, we're the faceplate people ...

Jim you're off the team until you switch.... ;)

The team hasn't all rx'd free phones b/c we haven't won the chairman's.... That offer from years ago is still valid!! (Re)Tell your classmates!

The faceplates were for the i50sx model.

Yes, nextel is only nation-wide direct-connect provider. There is a company called Boost that sells same stuff under different name.

nextel's site used to have an interactive map that said which cities would be up in which month. they seem to have changed maps to just a static view of the entire nation....

during game 3 of cup finals they had a nation-wide commercial and didn't mention anything about certain cities up or not up....

I have a schedule that lists the order of several large cities (mostly east coast), but not sure if that's public info yet...

What's interesting is the handsets have had the capability for 5+ years now... :ahh:

English students, in TECH? Your best bet was Mark, but hes gone now. Yeah, not to mention you're stuck with '04, '05 and '06. Yeah, good luck finding those english students.

I cant help but cringe at this statement. Please dont take this the wrong way. This seems like a pretty twisted idea, it never made sense to me how teams PURPOSELY do things SPECIFICLY to help them win a chairmans award. It kind of dirties the whole idea. But i know that if we got free phones that would probably help motivate us, but the chairmans award isn't something that you should do things for just to win it.

Bah. Enough of that.

I dont really care for the 'direct conenct' idea, my dad has one of those nextels, and i dont see how it is any more useful then just calling the person and talking to them, now i have to push a button before i talk. Why not just call em and talk normaly?

It sounds like it's just a challenge or incentive. There's nothing wrong with that. Sure, you should be doing the Chairman's Award for its own sake, but if you're not already treating it that way, you probably won't win anyways. What's the harm in trying to have a little fun with it?

English and taravella doesn't mix Jim. Just at look at who is on our team. The only one that could be of any help would be little Bouhenguel (sp?).

BTW I sure no one from Taravella knew of that offer as well. We don't even find out about exrta mtgs. to 7th period.

Relax, It's not like that.

Cost savings. Most conversatoins are very short. Dont get me wrong, Nextelians use the phone too.
