FIRST bracelets from nats
 

i was just wondering, who is still wearing the bracelets that we got at nats that let us get on the buses and eat? i know i am, and so is some of my team, but i just noticed mine is starting to rip, so i think i have to take it off soon, even though i dont want to.

I still have mine on, and i know of one other girl on my team that still has her's on too. you can see it in my picture. but its starting to get really skanky, i might have to take it off, but i don't want to either!

What? Surely you can't be reffering to those annoying, colored plastic bands we were forced to wear at all times? I hated those things. They got in your way, and when you'd horse around, the tabs came off and became void (though I just held them up to my bracelet and pretended to tear them off again, and no one noticed or cared). I liked Disney's method of giving us coupons and an envelope to stick them in--that way we can keep them on us, but don't have to wear it 24-7.

But maybe I'm just over critical. If you like wearing it, by all means keep it up and continue your robot geekiness :)

I wore the SPARKY 384 wristband for like a month after the Chesapeake regional. People at school would ask me about it and be like "is sparky your nickname?" :D

I finally cut it off because I couldn't wear jewelry at track meets. It's pinned on my bulletin board :D

those are the ones im talking about. i love it, and it raises so much interest in robotics. i think i have to take it off soon for soccer, but i will leave it on until i get told to. and i ended up just taping my tabs to the bracelet with duct tape and electrical tape.

i am still wearing the sparky 384 one too. everyone asks me what it means, and because it is so bright, people notice it, and it sparks interest, and it always makes me happy to talk about our robot.

I never wore mine. I detest plastic bracelets. I just walked up, pulled mine out of my pocket, and tore the tabs off. Noone ever gave me trouble. I was fine with the ones for Epcot last year, but there was no way I was wearing a pink bracelet for 3 days.

Skanky,lol, yes it definatly is. I was one of those that didnt realize the sentimental value of the wrist band becuase I was so annoyed with it by the end of Nats, i cut it off immediatly. It would have been nice to keep it as a momento, but oh well. I did save my operator's badges, and i have kept all my team parifanalia. I still have a huge wad of Sparky beads and those bright colored rubber bands from who knows where. I wear my elastic plastic beaded necklace (again, forget who its from, anyone know?) all the time though and I get lots of compliments on it, lol, who would have thought.

i took mine off on the last day cause it got annoying but about 4 kids on my team still have it on...

Nobody on my team is still wearing them. I know people saved them...other people lost them or threw them out. *shrug* I don't really know what happened to mine.

I'm still wearing my Sparky 384 arm band from Nats... and my friend Sam is still wearing his from VCU :) You can't really tell that his was a Sparky bracelet though...

I wore my NATS bracelet for the longest time...unfortunately, it broke off of its own accord a few weeks ago :o( ....it sucks..it would've matched my prom dress. (yes..I so would have worn it to prom!) But it's now in my photo album, just like last year's wrist band!

Ok guys, mabey we need a 10 Step Program for seperating yourself from your Sparky bracelet. This is just WAY to freaky for us at Tucker...

BTW Guys, our bracelets were just coated paper, not real plastic, so if you still have yours from VCU, that's juse ewwie. :p

One of our engineers popped a little locking tab on his braclet and he could take it off every night and put it back on in the morning...so I decided to try that and it totally worked, until I accidently broke part of it off and it wouldn't lock anymore. Very handy ;)

I was until it got caught on a desk at school and broke:( buuuut.....I do happen to have another one hanging on my wall which I will not wear because it is sooooo precious to me.:] LEGO HEAD:] YEAH!!

lol Sam you're goofy, but I didn't know the VCU bracelet broke :eek: We'll have to have like a burial ceremony or something...

But yes if I can get a good picture of my war-torn Sparky bracelet I'll post it on here sometime...

Well I wear braclets all the time so I did'nt even notice until it got caught on things.

A tragic day for the Sparky bracelets... yes - let it be known on June 28th, 2003, my Sparky bracelet was violently ripped away from my wrist during a game of volleyball :(
An open-casket viewing will be held this coming Wednesday at 5:00 for all those who would like to show their resepcts...

I was cleaning my room yesterday and I found my bracelet from nats! Another thing to put in the scrapbook that hasnt been started yet and probably never will ;)

I have my bracelet from last years nats still. The nice yellow one we got saturday night I think.

I feel your pain.Just know that it is in a better place right now,running and playing with all the other broken and forgotten bracelets. Just think of all the good times and it will never die.

I was trying to keep it on until IRI was over, then I was going to retire it... alas, it is gone. :(

heres something tragic...

my mom cut my sparky one n the other one off while i slept last nite. so sad. i woke up this morning and they werent there and i started yelling at her. she says they looked tacky and i should not go away with them on. i think shes wrong because wearing them raises interest and interest is good. she said i should be glad that she didnt throw them out and that she gave them back to me, so at least i still have them. maybe ill duck tape them back on.

I was thinking about doing that for the IRI... it would work.

To 384 - see if you can get bracelets next year that are removeable... ;)
