2 Fast 2 Furious

Don't read this thread if you haven't seen the movie yet!

I was just wondering whether anyone thought that the second one was better than the first. I thought so. After you vote, make a post telling me what your favorite scene was. My favorite was probably the ejection seat one.

Blacknight 08-06-2003 21:55

Can I say that the first was much better. And on the level with movies out right now, The Itallian job is much better. C 2F2F would've been better if they had mini coopers in it. (especially mini coopers with nos:p )

Jeff Waegelin 08-06-2003 22:02

I have no desire to see it. The first wasn't all that great, and I can't imagine the sequel being any better.

But its got Ludacris and Tyrese in it!! It's going to be .. 'off tha hook', as the cool kids say.

Any movie with '2' in the title in place of 'too' automatically loses my interest. (see signature for similar mis-usage of the letter u)

Jupee 09-06-2003 02:12

I saw the Italian Job the other day and it was freakin awesome :) Totally enjoyed it...muchly...yes....I would definitely recommend seeing it! :D

FotoPlasma 09-06-2003 04:34

I would like to take some precious time out of your life by adding that I agree with both Jeff's and Brandon's comments.

On another note, I saw a commercial for a "Redline" street racing video, tonight. It looked like a "Girls Gone Wild With Cars And Low Quality Video." It was advertized as being "from the executive producer of The Fast and the Furious."

In the immortal words of MattK, "what are they comming to?"

Matt Attallah 09-06-2003 11:46

Ricers.

I dislike ricers.

They destroy a Camaro and Challenger.

An Eclipse with NOS was having trouble keeping up with the HEMI powered vehicle - but some how the Eclipse still won.

Darn those types of movies past the core of the earth...

Go see the Matrix:Reloaded - Probably one of the best movies I have seen in a while...

(sorry for the rant - I really dislike ricers... Give me good ol' Hemi's over any 4- or 6- bangers...)

Frank(Aflak) 09-06-2003 18:46

haha. I hate ricers too. I drive a '91 Mercury Sable, so I obviously don't ever race . . .

But once, I was accelerating out of a stoplight, and this riced up eclipse was keeping pace with me . . . . when I stopped accelerating at 5mph over speed limit(normal driving speed) and they passe . . they waved and yelled as if they had won a race. I was hardly riding my gas at all. . . and they were keeping up with me . . . hahahahaha.

Anywho, another fun story about dumb ricers is HERE! hahahahaahahah!

I thought the above was vastly entertaining. Funfacts: 7k rpms in fifth=129 mph.

129mph in second=16000 or 17000 rpms.

haha, 16000 rpms = boom.

BWAAA!!!

robot180 09-06-2003 19:37

It sounds like most people didn't like either the first or second fast and the furious. I thought that they were both good. The first one was like an ordinary movie and the second was a lot better. I saw it on its premier night. Two guys who worked at the theatre made a short speech before the movie started welcoming us and so on. One of the guys looked like Nick from SPAM. Hey Nick, if you read this, let me know if that was actually you. (big Nick, not small Nick)

LOL! Shows you what ricer drivers can do - just glad it was to a p.o.s. import instead of good ol' american muscle... :D

Blacknight 09-06-2003 21:45

American muscle sux. I'm sorry but Germans are the only ones who can make cars....

robot180 09-06-2003 22:09

You can't say that about trucks. No one can make trucks like Americans.

Man - where have you been?!

You can't tell me anything about foreign cars right now. Everyone has their spots. If you go out the new CTS by Cadillac - you can have luxury sedan for under $30,000. If you are going for performance - have you read Autoweekly lately? In their they try the new Dodge Viper - they say that It's much better than a Ferrari.

I realize that "each to his own" - but $@#$@#$@#$@#. Show me something that the Germans try to build - but the americans have already dominated it...

(sorry for the rant...agian...)

Ryan Albright 10-06-2003 09:09

Um well i liked the second one. Tyrese was funny. And the exhibit of cars where nice. I am a big fan of cars even the rice rockets. I used not to like the rice rockets but since i am getting rid of my truck and getting a eclipse and doing all the hop-ups i am fan of them now. The best car in the second one was def the louie vaton (spelling) ram 1500. I am a big truck fan and i will always have a truck.I was glad to see the differetn trucks in there. Like the F-350 with the lift kits, that was nice. In that car scene i saw alot of pt cruisers. AT least 15-20 of them. That was kidna strange but since my family has one not that bad jsut there was alot of them and it was an american car :ahh: The mustangs where nice to new.

Also, just keep in mind that you probably insulted about 100 engineers on this Forum.

Heyo firstly Ferraris are Itallian, and secondly think of who owns Dodge now, Mercedes-Benz. German.

And for domination, yes American cars have muscle but for performance and longivity of a car Germans have us beat. Most German cars are being built with a turbo or super charged engine. American cars are still just engines, and yeah so what if Chrysler has a V-12, (who are also owned by Mercedes) will it hold together after the first hundred thousand miles? Highly doubt it.

Ryan Albright 10-06-2003 11:01

ARe you forgetting chrysler just came out with Turbo and Dodge now has the hemi. All American cars hold togethter good. Plus if you are looking at pricing. I would take a Dodge Viper over a Ferrari everday. Two reasons. YOu are getting the same kind of luxury out of both cars except the Viper is 20,000 less. Second when you need to fix a Ferrari its gonna cost alot more to fix it then it would a viper. because they need to ship int he parts. Same with any car bmw, mercedes. Bascially when you are paying that much you are paying for the name

Dude - you defiantly don't know your types of engines in your vehicles...

1st off - the Viper is not powered by a V-12. It's a V-10. It's a 8.3 (505 cu) Naturally Aspirated 500 HP, 525 ft/lb torque. The triple 500s. Show me another manufacture that can pull that off w/o any turbos or anything.

If you wanna get nasty - get the Viper Hennessey Venom 800 Twin Turbo. Twin turbo added to that V-10 - will smoke just about anything that those foreign people can throw at it. (800 HP and 800 ft/lbs of torque at the rear wheels!!) - $127,225 *including* price of Viper. Who else can pull that off? Not Ferrari, or any other company that I can think off... (at only 14 lbs of boost it can run the 1/4 mile in 10.0 seconds...) The average life for the turbo engine is 100,000 before any major rebuilds WITH the twin turbo. (lets see some other company do that...)

2nd - What is in the Viper that was engineered by Mercedes? Not a darn thing. The Viper is still 100% American designed. As for the new Chrysler 300 C that has the Mercedes five-speed automatic, as well as a Mercedes steering system, seat structures, electronic architecture, many suspension components and a basic design from the Mercedes E-class, it's still an American car. It's engineering and parts usage is from Germany - but they had to make it fit into the American way.

3rd - If you wish to argue - PM or IM me - I'll be glad to argue. CD.com is meant for fun and all we have been doing is arguing and taking up valuable pixel space...

I'm out.

Blacknight 10-06-2003 16:00

lol
I never mentioned the viper once, did I? and i didn't mean the viper, when i said the V-12.

and u r right about the arguing. So I shall end my arguing and ranting here on the dot

.

From today's Drudge:

'2 FAST 2 FURIOUS' BLAMED FOR L.A. HIGH-SPEED CRASH DEATH...

The only money worth investing into your car is for a good sound system.

[EDIT] I kinda didnt read the whole thread before I posted this, obviously that Viper will beat it

Have Clark show you the pic of this super sweet vette'. 0-60 in 1.25 sec, 0-100 in 4.something sec. Id like to see a ferrari or rice rocket beat that. Heck, Id like to see just about anything beat that(cars of course, I know some of you clever people will try to tell me a missile or a bullet can beat it :p) and for 160k? cant beat it in price either

Cory

Matt Attallah 10-06-2003 17:58

I have seen it before on TV.

How many do they produce? :D

And how many miles is it under warantee for? :D

You see where I'm going with this - don't you... ;)

George A. 10-06-2003 18:30

All i can say is that "2 Fast 2 Furious" was HORRIBLE!!! I mean I work at a movie theater so i know from movies, and that movie made Blair Witch 2 look like a fine piece of cinematic art, and that isn't an easy task!!! I mean the first one was ok but this one is a huge steaming pile of bull plop!!! I pity anyone who wasted two hours of their lives to see that poor excuse of a movie.

Andy A. 10-06-2003 19:02

I liked the first one, it was pretty much fluff, but it was still fun to watch.

The second was pretty crappy. It was all fluff, but even less attention was paid to making it almost maybe believable. If your going to make a movie about street racers, how about including some more street racing instead of those obnoxious highway scenes?

-Andy A.

robot180 10-06-2003 22:13

Now I thought that the second one was much better than the first one. I like the idea that things happened that weren't expected. Like the ejection seat thing and the scene where the trucks came out of the garage smashing the cop cars followed by hundreds of street racing cars.

I was also confused about the definition of a ten second car.

Sean_330 11-06-2003 00:22

For racing/entertainment value Fast And the Furious, and 2 Fast 2 Furious were good movies. The race scenes were tight and the cars were really nice. My main problem with the movie is that it shows street racing in a positive positive light. Until you have seen someone literally cut in half by an illegal street race and have them die on you, you don't realize how messed up and dangerous street racing really is. Therefore, I enjoyed the movie, not the message behind it.

Robot180: A 10 second car is one that can do the quarter mile in 10 seconds.

robot180 11-06-2003 15:25

That's what I thought. My brother said that it means that the car can accelerate to its max speed in under ten seconds. I didn't think that was true. It doesn't make sense.

robot180 11-06-2003 22:35

I just showed my brother this thread and he doesn't believe all of you. He says that they say that in the movie, but a ten second car really means that a car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in ten seconds. Can someone research that and let me know which of us is right?

OM*G!! I drag all the time. Is there something w/ your bro?

I gave up my prom night so I can drag strip (I'm proud of that) and if they say that "You have a 10 second" car - you can go 1/4 of a mile in 10 seconds in your vehicle.

I'll get you your research... Hang on...

(If a car can go from 0-150+ in 10 seconds w/o breaking the tires - please show me...)

Edit:

Show your brother (or who ever) this page.

Let him tell you with a straight face that those speeds are the fastest those cars can do.

Here is the link

Cory 11-06-2003 23:45

Dude, I can get a golf cart from 0-60 in 10 seconds (Well not really, but you get the point) if you did 0-60 in ten seconds, your car sucks to put it bluntly.

Your car sucks for speed. I know a few cars and SUVs that can't accelerate that fast...

My Grand Cherokee takes like 9 seconds to get from 0-60. :D (That isn't 1/2 bad. I have only the 4.0 Inline-6 engine in a body style that weights more than 5300 lbs! :ahh: )

robot180 12-06-2003 11:54

I used that same example, the golf cart. He says that they can't test it though because what if the driver doesn't drive at full speed. I will show him that page.

RamtechJulia387 13-06-2003 18:45

I believe that "2 Fast 2 Furious" wasn't good as the first movie. The movie had no plot....but even though i believe that i wasn't good, I liked going to see the cars.:)

Jay W. 14-06-2003 00:43

Hey guys...
I'm not here to make an arugement, nor am I saying which I like better, I like both muscle & street racing cars. I personally liked 2 Fast 2 Furious better than the first movie. The movie was more entertaining to me, and I liked its plot. I also liked Brian's cars (and the other cars) in this one, expecially the silver & blue Nissan Skyline he was driving at the beginning. The trucks were an excellent addition, I was surprized they actually made a new Dodge Ram look good. The Evolution and the Spyder looked like they drove nice, yet, their paint jobs weren't the greatest of works (really...Brian in a yellow car?) I also think there may be a slight possibility of a sequel, if there is one I would like to see him go back to meet up with Dominic and set things right, I mean, now that he can actually race good and isn't a cop Dom would love him. And for my final rant...they still haven't put my favorite vehicle dressed up in their movie- a Jeep! It wouldn't be that hard, give it about a five inch lift, some 38's, and Flowmasters it'd be awesome...

robot180 14-06-2003 18:52

If they made another sequel, I don't think that Dominic would be in it. Lots of people say that Ben Diesel (what ever his name is) is not a very good actor. I think that is why he wasn't in 2 fast 2 furious. They just said that he didn't want to be in it because they didn't want to make him look bad.

Hahahaha! A fellow Jeep Freak!!

Go all out and get a long-arm kit. That would of been awesome to see a Jeep coming out of the garage w/ some 38's (or some 40's) or the like!!!

Go Jeep!!

Ryan Dognaux 15-06-2003 15:38

Suki's car was the best...

That's all I got to say bout this movie.
