How much time do you put into building your robot

Through the week our team works on the robot 1500 to 2000, except on Friday we work till 2200+
Saturday we work from 0900 to 2200+. Some of us have been known to work till 0230 Sunday.
On Sunday it's 1300 till 2000.
As you can tell I'm ex-military :)

Gotta get back to work now :D

Monday-Friday: 6pm-9/10pm
Saturday: noon-???
Sunday: off until we need them.

Yeah, that's the "layed back" time schedule. It's hard when at least one of two certain people have to be there.

Carolyn Duncan 28-01-2002 01:05

Team 86 has shifts set up...
Monday-Thursday 5:30 til 9:30
Friday OFF!
Saturday 1:00 til 5:00 and 5:30 til 9:30
Sunday 1:00 til 5:00 and 5:30 til 9:30 At least those are the shifts for students. We, the mentors, are often in the shop until much later. We do less building and more planning or set up things for the kids to do the next day. Each student is required to sign up for one weekday shift and one weekend shift. So yeah I guess that's that.

Our team meets:
Tuesdays 5:30pm - 8:30pm
Thursdays 5:30pm - 8:30pm
Saturdays 9:00am - 3:00pm

Of course this schedule falls apart with 7-10 days left until shipping, at which point it becomes crazy.

Bill Gold 28-01-2002 14:53

Mon: 1:50pm-6pm
Tues-Fri: 3:30pm-6pm
Sat-Sun: noon-6pm

The 6pm end time is flexible... I usually end up staying until 7 or so. But our schedule is going to fall apart by the beginning of next week :-P

kacz100 28-01-2002 15:26

Our team Metal-in-Motion works usually Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursday, Fridays, and some Saturdays. We work from about 5:30pm-9:30pm, but there are some days where people are there from 12pm-10pm working. We usually come and go as we need depending on what sub-team are meeting that night:cool:

How do you guys get a robot up in running in that short amount of time??

We have been working since Jan 5, 24/7 taking turns sleeping and eating for about 3 hours. We continue this until the last second of the shipment hour!!

JK We usually work Mon-Thurs 6-9 and Sat from 9-??????? and some Sundays.

Well you can guess where I am going right now.

This is 810's general schedule:

Monday - Friday: 2-4;6-10; but it seems it is going to change to 2-10 shortly
Saturday: 9am - 10pm
Sunday 9am - 10pm

These are just for now. Once February 19th comes closer, we expect that the nights (at least Friday and Saturday) may become later.

My team (#192, GRT) starts at about 3 pm weekdays and goes untill 10 pm. On weekends we are at the shop at 10 am and go untill 11 pm.

Kyle Hill 29-01-2002 17:19

Monday-Thursday: 205pm - 500pm / 500pm - 800pm (in shifts)
Friday - 205pm - 500pm
Saturday - 800am - 300pm

The 29-01-2002 19:09

As the freshman on our team, Colin, pointed out, GRT, the original G-Force, we work after school till bed time every day, and always on weekends. This is probably due to the fact that we students make our own parts, which puts a great time constraint on every thing we do.

Jessica358 29-01-2002 19:30

working hours

Hauppauge, New York team 358 working hours:
Monday-Thursday: 6:00-10:00p.m.
Friday: it depends; sometimes from 3:00 to 10:00 and at other times we start at 6:00 and work until there is nothing else to do or we are so tired that we can't find the tools anymore.
Saturday: 9:00 to whenever (same deal as Friday nights).
In previous years we have worked overnight but the production process tends to slow down when the human body can no longer function at a normal rate. :D
