I'm w/ both DJ and Amanda. I'm not a real fan of it, never have, never will be. But both my best friend and my girlfriend are set on forcing me to read them eventually. (I just nod but yeah right :p ) They just don't appeal to me period. But then again I'm a Left Behind fan sooooo that's prob. another reason y i just don't feel like reading em'. Ooo n' btw does neone else here read Left Behind? And if you do how the heck are they gonna write another book? and make it decent?

shyra1353 25-06-2003 02:08

ive finished reading it now. well i finished yesterday morning...at like two in the morning. but anyways, i thought it was awesome, however there were some characters i thought seemed out of character like neville or lupin and especially sirius. but that's just my opinion. and i thought the last couple of chapters went by too fast. i liked how she followed the same patterns as the other books and i hope she keeps doing that. i have more complaints/praises but i dont want to give away the book for anyone who hasnt read it.

Just Finished...

I just finished reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix... and all I can say is wow.... just wow. Rowling has really outdone herself this time. After reading the last chapter I just sat there wanting more... I really liked the way some characters got more play in this book than in the past 4 *cough* Weasley, Longbottom *cough* I really wasn't expecting the person who died to actually die... it was a shock to me anyways. And now all I can think is... if you thought Harry was angry in this book... just think what he'll be like 1/2 through the next book...

So anyways, if you haven't even attempted to read the first book... I suggest you do... there's really no reason not to.

:D

I SURE DIDN'T EXPECT HARRY TO BECOME MORTALLY WOUNDED IN THAT QUIDDITCH MATCH AT THE END!

All i have to say is WOW!!! I haven't finished the book yet, i'm on chapter 32. I just read about the O.W.L.s. I enjoyed the book so far, but i'm too scared to continue reading. I just totally stopped reading. I don't wanna find out who dies. I thought i had if figured out in chapter 22, but then that person got better so i kept reading. Then after i read about Grawp i thought it was going to be the person who showed Harry and Hermoine, but then that person ran away. So i finished reading that chapter and it gave me a clue on who i think is gonna die now. I don't want that person to die, so i just stopped reading. If i don't read it it can't happen. So now i'm not planning on finishing the book until Harry Potter 6 comes out.
Well... i may continue reading, just to find out if Umbridge gets kicked out, i really hope she does. I also hope she gets punished by Filch and that she looses her job and can never find work again. That's just a wish, but it prolly won't happen, so i don't think i will finish reading the book. Oh Well.

...there are probably people reading this thread who haven't read this book yet and probably won't for a long time.

That said, they don't want it ruined.

Spammy Badame 28-06-2003 14:04

I wasn't giving away any information, that's why i was just saying that person, that person, and that person. I was also just saying what i wanted to happen to Umbridge. but you prolly weren't talking to me, you were prolly talking to the people above me.
besides, they weren't ruining the book.

Hagrid dies! And the Dursleys die! They all get sat on by a giant hippogryph! And Harry's broom turns on him and he almost gets impaled! And there's rampaging bricks all over Hogwarts!
Shut up, tatsak, you weren't supposed to tell them all of the story!
Hermione dies from a Avada Kedavra curse from Voldemort! And Ron is brutally whacked over the head with a wand by Neville because Nevill eaccidentally missed Wormtongue!
Um... Wormtongue is LotR
Fine... Peter Pettigrew! And Sirius turns out to be part of Voldemort's army and is acting as a spy! Another basilisk appears! Dobby is another spy! Nearly Headless Nick is NOT a spy! But he's killed by Voldemort as well, when he raids Hogwarts!
Um... he's already dead, remember?
Stop interrupting! Hagrid's hut is flattened by a random Bludger! Harry goes off and does some acid tripping! He finds some ground to plant poppies!
Sorry, I should take him away. Now come on tatsak You know you weren't supposed to reveal 900 pages of the book in the quickest summary I've ever heard...

I'm back.. they can't catch me, i'm just editing my post... they won't notice us... We are telling the truth, now aren't we? Snape, he becomes Harry Potter's best friend and confidante. Lily isn't really dead, just got lost in the one of the muggles' malls. James, yeah, he had died, but Dumbledore tells Harry that it wasnt' Voldemort, it was actually just a bungee jumping accident. Harry fails all his OWLs and gets detained! As a cruel joke, Draco burns all of Hermione's books! Cho and Harry get their own room in a hotel near Diagon Alley and --
THERE you are! What were you telling them now? What were you going to say after that?? Oh man you have a horrible mind
But we was just telling the truth! We didn't mean any harm
Ah, come on, I'm taking you to a psychologist
Noo! Not the Devil! We will be good.. We don't want to speak to the Devil again..
You have to. Come on. Oh, sorry for the disturbance. tatsak has just lost his mind

Yan Wang 28-06-2003 18:34

I have no idea what the purpose to that post was. So far, no important detail of the book has been given away by anyone, Maddie. I don't expect anyone will.

Spammy Badame 28-06-2003 19:56

I don't see what the point of that was, either. but i do have to admit, it was kinda funny....

tatsak42 28-06-2003 23:20

Oh I forgot to say what I thought of the book. Must say, it was a different Harry than the other books. And it didn't actually SAY who won did they? Just.. Gryffindor gets 5 50 points-10, but maybe I just read over it. But overall I again, liked the book. :D

Adam Y. 01-07-2003 21:36

All right there is no way to post spoilers on this forum.:( I liked the book. It really was not obvious who was going to die.

Ian W. 01-07-2003 23:03

the whole dying part was, um, anti-climatic, very much so.

to sum it up.

"haha- oh, i'm dead"

where's the shakespearian element to it? the long drawn out dramatic deaths? they're all british! :p

all in all, a good book, reveals a lot more about the wizarding world, but it has a very different feel to it than the past four. or maybe it's just me, i'm not sure. in anycase, i'll look forward to reading the 6th book in my 3rd year of college... (i just finished my junior year in high school)
