when at the mall...

was at the mall today wandering around, and i was wondering where people shop.

pacsun... anchor blue if i'm feeling cheap. Macy's if i'm feeling rich, and a&f if i feel like wasting time (as soon as i see a price tag i walk out. too goddamn expensive)

where do you shop?

edit: yeah, i realize i missed alot of stuff... i don't go to the mall often.

Cory 24-06-2003 04:14

I generally try to stay as far as I possibly can from malls. Shopping is not one of my favorite activities.

AlbertW 24-06-2003 04:23

our mall has an apple store ::happy::

i went there today to check out the new G5s... they're not out until august... blah.

Kristina 24-06-2003 05:26

I am a shop-o-holic so I think I checked off 4 of the boxes. Most of my clothes are GAP or of the same preppy sort so don't make fun of my store.

Brandon Martus 24-06-2003 07:11

hot topic (for cd's, not clothes)

eddie bauer [via internet] they have tall clothes that aren't too hideous and are work appropriate and ok for everyday wear. [6'7"]

kristen 24-06-2003 08:24

*cough* I am SUCH a shop-a-holic... recently, while cleaning out my closet I found lots of clothes that I have never worn before. LOL it was depressing.

I checked off three boxes, but I shop mainly at American Eagle and Abercrombie & Fitch... heh heh I'm resisting the urge to go on.

Blacknight 24-06-2003 08:58

Hmm.... I make my own shirts and have made myself duct tape pants and a duct tape trench coat... that's y I checked off something else.
:p

MissInformation 24-06-2003 09:14

I hate shopping for clothes! Blah! I get quite a bit of clothing from my mother and sister as gifts. But when I do have to shop for clothing, it's usually at a department store (with the treat of going to a book store afterwards).

I can often be found wearing robotics shirts (and shirts from plays that i've helped with at school) around.

[EDIT]I forgot to mention that I'm wearing a shirt from last year's Philiadelpha competition today[/EDIT]

Joel J 24-06-2003 12:34

Yeah, good clothes and myself will never have the luxury of a peaceful coexistance... I go to the Burlington Coat Factory for my clothes, because its within (relatively) walking distance of my house, and it has a Tall men's section. I am not that tall, but my arms are 2inches longer than everyone my height, which makes everything painful. I know, I'm a unique product of nature ;)

robot180 24-06-2003 15:59

I hate shopping for clothes. Those of you who know me, know that I have like five shirts that are kind of faded and like five pairs of pants that look almost the same, some shade of white. I think that shopping for clothes is annoying. Now in case anyone cares, I am handicapped and can't skate, surf, or play sports so it would be strange for me to wear Quicksilver stuff or Rusty, and so on. I just buy the first shirts I see that fit me. I just hate it.

Mike Schroeder 24-06-2003 16:45

Malls Upset me, they dont tend to have Big Mike Sized clothes.... I go to the mall only once a year... for christmas presents for my faimily :p

Madison 24-06-2003 16:57

I make all of my clothes from linens saved from our dryer's lint trap.

...okay, maybe not. I shop in many, many varied places. Some are found in every single mall on earth (*cough*The Gap*cough*), most are not.

Frank(Aflak) 24-06-2003 19:25

how about a new option: I wear clothes, but I don't ever shop except for online tech places. and on rare occasions.

George1902 24-06-2003 20:19

My shopping ritual is pretty simple. I enter Old Navy, find something that I wouldn't make fun of on someone else, find it in my size and at least 3 different colors, pay and leave. I try to do this at least twice a year, otherwise my wardrobe tends to look a little shabby.

Yes, cheap is good. I use a similar method. Paying $30 for a T-Shirt with a name on it is highly overrated (*coughAbercrombie&Fitch / EddieBauercough*). No, I don't feel like being a mindless walking billboard. I don't mind being one for Old Navy though because you can get 5 T-Shirts for $10.

Kohl's is a pretty good place to shop as well. I think I've only bought something from PacSun/Buckle once (nice pair of shorts & shirt on sale).

I did get a pair of boxers from GAP once. I felt wierd in that place. The only reason I got'em is because they were free :p

kristen 24-06-2003 22:13

.. I must admit, I enjoy being a walking billboard sometimes.

Though I wouldn't pay anymore that $50 to be one :)

.. well except in ONE case.

:) I want to buy shirts in every color, and write "KRI" all over them so that I can be a billboard for myself!

RogerR 24-06-2003 22:49

I don't shop.
I just attend events that give out free promotional t-shirts.

although the pants situation is getting a little tight....

[edit] sorry about the pun, i really couldn't help my self. really[/edit]

shyra1353 25-06-2003 01:59

i shop a lot. i actually went today for almost 5 hours. thats not to say i bought a lot though. i did buy some stuff. i dont think i have one particular set of stores i shop from. i know i go to some stores on a regular basis to see if theres anything new, but i wouldnt say i shop anywhere regularly. basically, if i like something and its worth the price its being sold at, i buy it.

AdamT 25-06-2003 22:05

*cough* Hot Topic =! punk *cough*

And the catalog cardboard cutouts continue marching.

AlbertW 26-06-2003 02:04

whatever, you get the idea :p

Coco the Monkey 26-06-2003 10:05

You must have bought the t-shirt and boxers though. Unless you inherited them from family. I get a lot of my brothers old clothes but they look terrible so i through them out.

Also, I couldn't imagine wearing someone else's underwear. That is disgusting. So I would guess that you did buy the t-shirt and boxers after all.

Amanda Morrison 27-06-2003 12:27

I don't go shopping at malls, because I can't ever find anything that fits quite right. I'm a little top-heavy and I have wide hips, which doesn't help when stores like Abercrombie and the Gap advertise very thin, flat, narrow girls.

However, thrifting has always fit my needs. When I was in high school, most of my clothes said weird area names and place on them, such as 'Tarpman', 'Forever Green', or my personal favorite, 'Grampa Al'. I got a couple of memorable slogans, too - 'Court Reporters Are Touchy People!', 'Frazza's Barnyard 88/89?', and 'Johnson's U-Pick Apples'. My pants have ranged over the years from plaid, huge 60" bottoms, floods, regular baggy jeans, low-risers, and now my new favorite, polyester. I've even helped my brother find a three-piece herringbone twill suit for his graduation - a whopping $7.

I've always been a thrifter... no reason to stop now.

I usually don't shop when I go to the mall.. and if I do , it's at Pacsun.

I go to the mall for...

srjjs 27-06-2003 15:20

The only places I go to at the mall are:
The optician
The game/hobby store
The bookstore

Why are clothes such a big deal?

Dave_222 27-06-2003 15:59

I usually get my t-shirts at hot topic (I only wear band or robotics shirts) and i get shorts where ever they are cheep. in the mall i spend most of my time and money in either the arcade playing DDR or in the book store. I also get shirts online from wickedjester.com and gameskins.com.

its really hard for me to get pants that fit good too. i mean my waist/hips are one size according to the stores, but then my thighs are a different one so its kinda hard to find a pair of pants that fit properly, without making me have to wear a belt, because i hate belts

Elgin Clock 27-06-2003 17:59

HOT TOPIC is the only store in the nearest mall that is even worth shopping for clothes in!

Clark Gilbert 27-06-2003 22:56

American Eagle

Hmmm...

Where I shop........American Eagle, and....American Eagle, and Steve and Barry's.

I love American Eagle's khaki shorts so much that I haven't worn a pair of jean shorts forever (actually only in Houston for the team uniform). For my shirts most it's pretty even between American Eagle and Steve and Barry's which is a university clothing store on the Purdue campus. Everything for $20 or less! (right now i think it's $12.98....). Gotta love college t-shirts for $7.50 and big heavy embroidered hoodies for $20 :D

Alaina 04-07-2003 16:53

I get my T-shirts from Hot Topic and my jeans from Old Navy...because they're relatively inexpensive....
And Journey's is the best place for shoes.

chellyzee93 05-07-2003 21:10

During the build my first shirts are pretty much all I wear.. In the summer I'll at least put myself together... otherwise it's waaaay too cold in school for anything short of layers. :)
